Her eyes were probably the most beautiful things I had ever seen...
I knew she had the same eyes as her whole family she has told me a million times. I know they are just a little darker than her father's because I can specifically remember looking into his eyes earlier that day as he said she would be back by 11:00 PM and I nodded just ready to get out and away from his stare.
But this isn't about how dark her eyes are. It is the light that is behind her eyes and how everything she sees is reflected back twice as bright. How they follow the emotions of the person she is currently with. If someone is sad- they are sorry and caring. If someone is excited- they are proud and happy.
Even when she is alone and thinks no one is looking her eyes tell how she is feeling with a side of her never-ceasing confidence.
Now her eyes are completely calm. As she looks up at the sky, I can see the stars being reflected off her eyes, and I knew that this is where she wanted to be.
I could tell she was embarrassed that I was staring at her, so I sighed and turned on the grass to look at the stars. I was not able to focus on them...
They were not as bright as her eyes.
