NOELLE
Warm.
So warm...
"Oh my gosh! They're so cute!"
Who's that?
"No. Wake them up, he has his hands all over her," replies a deeper voice.
They sound awfully familiar.
"Shh, now is not the time, honey," the first, female, voice says.
What is going on?
"Why is he still here? It's ten o'clock at night! He needs to go home."
Their names are on the tip of my tongue.
"I think it's adorable."
Why can't I remember?
"Just wake them up already."
Do I have amnesia?
"No! I won't disturb such a romantic moment! Let them wake up together alone!"
Most likely.
"That's my daughter!"
Should I be concerned?
"You're my husband! I get to tell you what to do."
Probably.
"Geneveve!" [I can't remember if I gave the parents names]
Am I concerned?
"Shut up."
No. No, I am not.
"Ge- "
"No."
"But- "
"Silence."
I hear the guy sigh in frustration, "Fine."
"Good."
And then it's quiet again.
Until...
"Bunny."
Moaning tiredly, I wiggle around, trying to wake up but stay asleep at the same time.
Warm breath fans across my cheek, making me warmer than I already am. The deep husky voice sounds in my ear once more, "I'm gonna head home, beautiful. Your dad is mad."
"Fine," I groan, snuggling deeper into my strangely hard mattress. I don't want to wake up, I feel so comfortable right now. Why do I care if some random child is leaving? No matter how deep his voice is.
Then, out of nowhere, my bed starts to move, sliding out from under me!
What is this sorcery?
"Stop! I'm trying ta sleep!"
Huge, warm hands rub my back until I return to my coma. This is the life.
"Sweetheart, I need to go," the soft voice sends shivers into my stomach.
Blindly, I wrap my arms around my precious mattress, "Okay, go. But leave my bed this time, goat man."
If that sorcerer tries to take my bed one more time, I swear...
"Goat man?" The voice sounds offended. Good. I'm glad I offended him. He tried to rob me.
I ignore him, assuming he will finally take his leave.
He doesn't.
"I am not a goat."
"Shut uhhp," I groan, annoyed.
"Fine, I'm going," he huffs, sounding a little hurt.
"Good, I'm trying ta sleeep."
And he has the nerve to try and move my mattress again!
Clinging onto it for dear life, I growl angrily, "Don't. Touch. My. Bed. Goat sorcerer!"
My bed stops sliding away from me, and I hear the sorcerer chuckle, but it shakes my bed as well. Why can't this dude just go away and leave me in peace?!
I'm tired!
"Bunny, it's Teddy," the dude explains gently as the warm hands return to massage my, now tense, back. "I am your bed, baby. And I'll be your bed for the rest of our lives, as soon as you are my wife. Until then, I will have to go to my house every night and you will stay here."
My brain does not process his gibberish, but my heart becomes warm. With all the warmth, I just melt into my bed, trying to go back to sleep.
But out of nowhere, my bed rolls out from under me and leaves me on my side, empty.
Frustrated and exhausted, I let myself cry. A sob shivers out of my throat and I feel my face collapse. "Stop! I just wanted to sleep," I whimper helplessly.
"F**k," the jerk hisses, and within seconds, those warm hands are back.
Dang, I would let those hands touch me anywhere. They are perfect...
I'm lifted into the air and then I find myself cuddled against my mattress, only now it's vertical. Oh, it smells so good.
I don't know what's happening, I'm a very confused individual, but I hold on tight to my mattress. I'm not letting it go again.
"She... I... couldn't leave her on the couch," mutters the jerk after a few moments of movement, only he sounds so sweet, I'm questioning everything.
"Awh!" The girlish gasp takes me off guard, it sounds kinda like my mom...
"I just, um... maybe if I brought her to her room? Or if you would take her? She... she started tearing up and I..." The jerk sounds shaken up... why?
"Give her to me--"
Another male voice is cut off by the woman. "No! You can bring her, Theo! It's just fine, her room is up the stairs, first door on your left."
Wait, the jerk is gonna take me somewhere? I didn't really pay attention to most of what she said.
"Thank you, ma'am. But I'm not trying to cross lines, Mr. Silverstone," The jerk sounds apologetic, "Do you want me to bring her back to the couch?"
The man sighs reluctantly, "No, go ahead, but you better come right back down here."
"Yes sir."
And I'm moving again.
Slowly, I drift back into unconsciousness, but only for a few moments.
As I'm separated from my bed and placed in another, colder, one, I wake up again. This time fully.
Cracking my eyes open, I peer through the darkness at Teddy, who looms over me anxiously.
He's so sweet.
"Teddy..."
Sighing sadly, he leans in and cups my cheek, his thumb caressing my skin. "Have a nice sleep, my precious little woman."
Why don't I want him to leave?
I wrap my arms around his neck and hug him, "Thank you, Teddy. You too."
He kisses my forehead, taking me by surprise, as he pulls away. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight," I whisper, watching him hesitantly leave the room.
My intense attachment to him takes me by surprise. It frightens me.
When he looks over his shoulder at me, emotion bright in his eyes, I have to turn around and put my back to him.
This one's short, but it was a good stopping place. Guys! Second update tonight!
