Letter to Santa (drabble)

Marielle Holmes-Lestrade proudly posted her letter through the bright red post-box at the end of the road, treading carefully on the frosted ground.
"Come on, sweetie!" Her father called out to her, and the small girl turned to make her way back to her watching parents. Mycroft, nervously, for the ground was frosty, and Greg with the same steady confidence which had come so instinctively to him as a father.
Greg scooped their daughter up in his arms, and the three of them carried on, homeward-bound.
As he watched his daughter smile with joy at the twinkling Christmas lights and the patterings of snow that were beginning to fall, Mycroft remarked just how beautiful life could be.
And on that cold December night, not a happier trio could be found anywhere.
