Chapter Twenty-Seven

~Rachel's POV~

I was exhausted by what seemed like the hundredth song. As it ended, I wiped the sweat from my forehead and made my way lazily back to our table. I heaved a sigh and slumped into the chair, taking a deep drink from my beer. I ignored the bitter taste and set it back on the table.
I watched Reid try to dance with J.J and Rossi. His arms were swaying awkwardly from side to side but a smile was on his face. They all looked like they were having a great time, even I was starting to. My feet were throbbing so I slipped the flats off and felt the cool surface of the wood below us.
My thoughts went back to Charlotte, I wonder how she was doing. I chewed on my lower lip and stared off into space for a couple moments. Should I call her? Should I see if she is okay? I shook my head and answered myself.
No Rachel, she is fine and she is in very good hands. These Agents are people who want to help, they are family now. I am finding it harder to distant myself from them. I liked it. It meant I am finally trusting again, even if it means one person at a time.
Morgan was flirting with a handful of girls and making them giggle. I rolled my eyes and finished off my drink, setting it down on the table. I started to feel a bit giggly, I was on my third glass. I felt a hand on my shoulder and spun around to see who it was.
He looked to be around his 30's or 40's, with a balding head and large body. Sweat soaked his collar and underarms, his creepy grin stretching as he looked me over. I shivered under his stare, my skin crawling and the reek of alcohol on his breath. He leaned against my chair, making the space between us shorter. I leaned the other way, immediately feeling uncomfortable.

"Hey baby, don't be shy. I don't bite..hard."

I shook my head and stood up, freezing when he grabbed my wrist. I turned an icy glare on him and ripped my arm from his meaty fingers. He didn't seem fazed, he liked a challenge. I didn't know what to do, Ive never been in this situation like this. The music was starting to get too loud and I felt dizzy.

"Come on sweetie, let me buy you another drink. After that, maybe you and me could back go to my place and get to know each other a little bit better." He said in a smooth and seductive voice, bringing his arm around my shoulders.

He slowly traced down my arm with his free hand before I stepped away. He smirked at me, winking. I bunched my fists up, glancing behind me. I couldn't see the team, seeming to be swallowed up by the rest of the crowd.

"Don't call me baby. I'm not interested."

I crossed my arms and looked at him. He did the complete opposite. I could feel my hand shaking. Before I could react, he had grabbed me around the waist and pushed me against him.
I tried pulling away, only to get tugged back into his sweaty body. He smelled of sweat and beer. My stomach was starting to churn with the odor.

"Let me buy you a drink and we can take it from there."

You could tell in his voice he was getting impatient and tried to make me move towards the bar. I wouldn't budge and I pressed both hands on his chest. I was ready to send this guy into the table.

"There you are, Rachel! I've been looking for you!" Reid's voice came from behind me.

I gave him a desperate look of help and he knew exactly what was happening. He pried the man's fingers off of me and pulled me behind him. The man was taller than Reid and snickered down at him.
He didn't show any emotion as he stood in front of the man. They both crossed their arms at each other. The man was slightly swaying and you could tell which one was more sober than the other.

"She is with me. Leave her alone. I will not ask you again." He said sternly, giving the man a curt nod before gently grabbing my arm and pulling me away.

The man tried to follow us but gave up to roam the other half of the club for hopeless girls. Reid took a deep breath and brought me back to the dance floor, the other Agents continuing their dance circle.
He smiled softly at me when we watched him walk away. I felt the urge to kiss his lips. Knowing I was being watched by the other agents, I knew it wasn't a good idea. So I didn't.

"Do you want to see a magic trick?" Reid suddenly asked.

I chuckled at the randomness of his question but nodded anyway. I watched as he held both of his hands out. He opened and closed them, showing me he had nothing in them and they were empty. I waited for him to go on and then he put his right hand behind me ear.
He gently placed his fingers behind my ear and pulled his hand sharply back. When he opened it up again, inside was a quarter.

"A human genius and a magician? You're the whole package." I teased, clapping for him.

He gave me a bow and smiled shyly down at the ground. I smiled and pulled him father into the circle, I suddenly felt like dancing again. I danced with Reid and the others. I laughed quietly and swayed my hips awkwardly with the music.
Rossi was having fun with J.J as she giggled and spun around on her toes. Morgan found me and made his way to my side, smiling and punching Reid's shoulders.

"That's the way, Pretty Boy! Move those hips of yours! You do have hips don't you?" He asked him, nudging Reid a little.

I could tell the alcohol had gotten into his system already, his eyes distant and his body in nonstop motion. I chuckled and took his drink away, setting it on a random table and crossing my arms. He pouted his lips and looked at me.

"No more for you! I think you have had enough." I stated, shaking my head.

He groaned and shuffled back to the group, stealing a few more sips from Garcia's fruity drink and sticking his tongue out at me. I laughed and turned towards Reid who was rubbing his shoulder.

"Do you want to sit back down?" Reid said to me as the song played.

With people still moving and dancing, we made it to the table and collapsed down into it. We both stared at each other before bursting out laughing. I stopped soon enough with tears in my eyes and my stomach aching.
I scooted my chair closer to him and immediately felt the heat rise in my cheeks. I quickly pushed my drink over to him and nudged his side. He took one look at the drink and made a face.

"Just take one sip, just one." I urged, putting the glass in his hands.

He pursed his lips and sighed. I grinned as he brought it to his lips and took a tiny sip. He put it down and scrunched his face up. I giggled at him shyly and folded my hands in my lap. He looked down at my hands and then looked away. He looked hesitant for a moment, until he gently grabbed my hands. He hid them under the table and he gave a squeeze.
We both looked over at the Agents, seeing no one looking our way as they continued be distracted. He quickly leaned over and pecked me on the cheek. Just the simple motion made my fuzzy head throb and my heart pound.
We both smiled at each other and talked before the rest came back. Soon enough, they sat down and chatted amongst ourselves. We devoured our dinners and drinks and felt satisfied. For some reason, I still had that bad feeling in the pit of my stomach as we all paid for our things and got up to leave.
I could hear the heavy rain pound onto the tin roofs of the club. I was confused when suddenly the agents grew silent very quickly. I looked over at Reid to see him looking at something behind me. I could hear the music blaring, but the floor was vibrating with sudden loud footsteps.
Reid gave Morgan a look and his fingertips grazed his pistol hidden away on his hip. My heart wrenched and I started to sweat. They were seeing something I wasn't. What?

This was that feeling I had. I knew it wasn't over.

"Guys? We may have a problem."
