A loud thud comes from the other side of the room.
"Ewwww!!!"
I wiggle around to get a better view of what's happening.
Burrito guy is pulling himself up off the floor. His partner is standing, brushing herself off.
"And the first couple is out!"
The girl starts whining instantly.
"No fair!"
"Sorry, but those are the rules."
"But he farted on me!"
I bury my face in the pillows, hiding my fit of giggles. Chase moves to lay on his back, his arm staying around my shoulders. I hear Burrito guy's response.
"Come on, babe. It's a natural body function."
"It's disgusting! I'm leaving."
I hear the door open and slam shut.
"Sorry about her. Mother Nature visited her yesterday."
Okay, I didn't need to hear that. That's a girl's personal information that everyone in the room now knows.
"Thanks for letting us participate."
The door opens and closes again. The room is oddly silent. No sound of couples swapping spit. No chatter. No bodily function noises.
Kelly speaks, breaking the weird sound pause.
"I'm going to turn on some music. Any protests, take it up with somebody who actually cares! I made this playlist specifically for this event today. Enjoy!"
Music starts pouring out of the speakers. I don't recognize the song, so I just turn to Chase for attention instead.
His eyes are closed, but I know he's not asleep. His head is nodding along to the beat of the song. I poke his nose and he opens his eyes.
"You know this song?"
"I don't know the name, but I've heard it before."
He closes his eyes again and I rest my head on his chest.
