Once more you stared at the calendar on the inside of your bedroom door. Fifty days had passed ever since Aiden and Ethan had left town to go who knew where.

Aiden had not called. He had not texted. He had not sent a short app to tell that he was alright.

You knew that technically you had been the one breaking up with him. You had told him that you would never forgive him for what he had done to Boyd. You had told him that you would never be able to love someone like him. You had told him to go away and to never come back. But somehow you had not expected him to really do so. And you had for sure not expected that it would hurt you this much.

Soft ticking against the window interrupted your train of thoughts. The sun had already set and actually you should be asleep by now, but somehow there was this tingling feeling in your stomach encouraging you to stand up to have a look.

Your legs were trembling a little while you walked towards the window. The small glimmer of hope that you barely dared to let in made your heart race in your chest. You held your breath when you saw a well known silhouette on the ground throwing small stones towards you.

His lips curled up into a smile when his glance met yours. He had a charming flickering in his eyes and with smooth movements he climbed towards you, like he had done way too many times already. "I was already afraid that you wouldn't even want to look at me anymore..." His voice was shaking a little while you opened the window to let him in.

"If only hating you was as easy as loving you..." You let out a deep sigh and you let your eyes wander over him.

He had gained some weight over the last few months, but looking at his muscles barely hidden by his shirt it was probably nothing but even more brute power. "Does that mean you forgave me?" Aiden wrapped his arms around your waist and even though your skin tingled where the tips of his fingers touched it, you felt a little uncomfortable.

"No..." Your lip was trembling and your voice was shaking. You bent your head to stare at your bare feet on the tapestry. You had already forgiven him weeks ago, maybe even months ago. You had already forgiven him when you realised that he had simply tried to survive, that if he had not done what he had done, he would have been dead by now.

"I don't believe you..." Aiden pulled you a little closer towards him. His voice was nothing but a soft whisper and he closed his eyes while his nose brushed yours.

"I don't believe myself either." You spoke softly. "I guess I'm a bad liar." Your lips curled up into a slight smile. "And I missed you. I missed you more than I can put into words." You pressed a soft kiss on his slightly opened mouth. "Please, don't ever dare to leave me again."

Aiden kissed you back eagerly, his hand rubbing your back as if he was hungry. "I won't." He pulled his head back and the back of his hand touched your cheek. "I even have a surprise for you." He kissed the tip of your nose before he curled his arm under your knees to lift you up. "Do you trust me?" He pressed his lips on your forehead.

"I do." This time your voice sounded steady and strong. "I trust you completely."
