Midoriya's Misfortune

Backstory

         Izuku Midoriya has lived a very sorrow-full life. Izuku was a normal kid for his few first years of life, frolicking around with his friends, playing pretend, hoping, wishing, praying for a cool quirk.

        When he was four his father disappears. Stricken with grief for losing a parental figure, Izuku turns to his favorite superhero AllMight to blind him of his sadness.  He generates a goal, to become a hero. He wanted to make his mom proud so she would stop being sad. On his fifth birthday, his mother brings him to the Quirk Specialist. Izuku is told there is nothing wrong with him, but he most likely will not get a quirk at his age.

         Heart heavy with the weight of losing his dreams and his father, he tells his best friend, Katsuki Bakugou. His decisions soon turn ones full of regret as Kacchan tells his whole grade, bullying Izuku every day. He gave Izuku the nickname Deku because Deku means useless. Telling him he was the reason his father left.

        Weeks after, he's going to go on a vacation in America to get their minds off his father and the pain, but disaster strikes. The plane crashes into the ocean.  When the heroes come to the rescue, they accidentally drop him back into the water causing him to almost drown. The incident petrifying him.

        By now poor little Izuku only ever feels happy and safe with his mother. However, that soon changed when a villain attacked the broken family. They held down Izuku, forcing him to watch as they burn his mother alive. The screams and pleads from his mother stained his mind like blood on a silk white cloth. He is now alone, his last known relative fried to a crisp before him. Izuku, deprived of all joy, no longer shows his emotions in fear he will break; but he's already broken.

        He is put in a foster care program that couldn't give less of a shit about Izuku. Favoring the children with powerful, useful quirks. Only giving him attention to call him useless and other harmful names, taking their negative emotions out on him. Giving him enough food so he doesn't die, keeping him away from all of the other children. Izuku's foster parents only abused him, keeping him because the foster money was given to them to care for the disaster-prone child.

         Izuku, being fed up with unfair treatment, runs far away. While scavenging the streets for food, had he not eat in many days, only eating insignificant scraps every now and then. The child was cornered by drunk men calling him to an alleyway with a dead end.

         In his frightened state, not wanting to get hit again knowing that if it were to happen he would suffer severe injuries in his malnourished condition, fell for the old men's tricks. Izuku was a smart child. Always being at the top at his class, but he was gullible.

        As he tried to find a way of escape, he thought of Kacchan. He was always so strong and fearless. His explosions reminding Izuku of his mother's gruesome end. In the midst of his jealousy and anxiety felt a scorching heat start ablaze in his heart, he started screaming in agony. Feeling it travel up to arm, he raised the limb desperate to be revealed of his pain. The drunken men closed in. Aim and Fire. A blazing flame shot from his hand scorching the men. They released shrill shrieks making Izuku's ears ring and the sight making him nauseous.

       The commotion alarming the pedestrians bustling by, which notified the police. They took back the boy to the orphanage.

         Izuku was shown on every news station for a month as "Orphan With an Extraordinary Quirk" Endeavor found an interest in Izuku. The child that ran away and came back with a powerful quirk. Endeavor immediately took advantage of the situation and adopted the hurt and introverted child. Endeavor stating in an interview the reason why he adopted Izuku "I adopted Midoriya because he has gone through so much for such a young child. I just couldn't bear the thought of him feeling like he was nothing."

          That single interview raised his popularity significantly whilst hiding the real reason as to why he adopted the child. He only adopted Izuku to use as a human punching bag for Todoroki.

          It didn't take long for Izuku and Todoroki to get along. They were inseparable. They ate together, slept in the same bed, took showers together. As they got closer Izuku slowly felt joy return to his pitiful life.

         That was soon ruined for their mother tried to burn the house to the ground with the children still inside. Wanting to be rid of her sinful life of raising the children that reminded her so much of her dreadful husband.

          To everyone's surprise, the blazing flame was extinguished by Izuku who revealed he had a "second" quirk. Water. However they didn't escape without being scathed, Todoroki whom only had minor injuries and the burn over his left eye. On the other hand, Izuku suffered major burns.

        A little over half of his body was consumed in flames. The flames transforming his once sun-kissed, silk-like skin to a burning red, rough, calloused husk of his prior self.

Now ten years later......
