I woke up to my alarm ringing loudly in my ears and sighed deeply. "Turn it off Elena!" My best friend Emily said throwing a pillow at me.
I picked it up to turn it off only the button was jammed. "It won't turn off!" I yelled back hitting the snooze button harder.
"Break it then, I'll buy a new one!" She yelled from the pillow that covered her face. I hit it on the desk and watched the top part break off, effectively shutting it off. "Thank god." She said muffled and started to snore again. I rubbed my eyes and looked to my left seeing a bottle of jack empty.
"How much did I drink last night?" I asked to no one in particular. I looked at the broken alarm clock and saw it was only nine in the morning. "Fuck I gotta go Em. Don't sleep in to late." I said to her while quickly getting out of bed and slipping on my black vans.
I looked at the outfit I slept in and deemed it good enough to wear to class. It was only a pair of black leggings and a baggy navy blue shirt. I grabbed my leather jacket and keys before hurrying out the door. As I ran down the hallway of the dorm room I noticed no one was in the halls and ignored it confused.
I hurried out of the building only to see a bunch of girls and few guys crowed around something. My curiosity got the best of me and I walked over seeing Tony wave me over. I jogged up to him and gave him a quick hug. "What's everyone doing?" I asked him trying to see what was happening.
"There's a new guy on campus and he's looking for you." Tony said giving me a push and making kissy faces.
"Yeah right, why would anyone be looking for me?" I asked him and right when I did I heard the familiar voice of Jett and felt frozen.
"Elena? Is that you?" He said in his all to familiar voice.
"I'm gonna go." I told Tony, ignoring Jett and hurrying to class.
"Elena, wait!" I heard Jett yell making me run faster. Only I didn't count on him to run to. He grabbed my arm making me stop in my tracks. "Can we talk please." He said pulling me to him.
I turned around to see him for the first time since senior year of high school and noticed he hasn't changed at all. He was still wearing his famous leather jacket, ripped jeans and tight shirt making me wanna scream at him. His hair was blonde and messy, it was how I wanted it to be and I felt this sadness in my heart seeing him.
"There's nothing to talk about. Now leave me alone." I hissed and ripped his hand off of my arm. He looked sad and I felt happy about that. I turned around and all but ran towards my class, ignoring the looks people gave me.
As I entered class late, I noticed everyone staring at me. "Nice of you to join us Elena." The professor said making me put my head down and walk over to the only open seat.
"Did I miss anything important?" I asked the boy next to me. He looked at me in shock and nodded his head no. "Sorry, I'm Elena, and you are?" I asked holding out my hand for him to shake. He was hesitant but took my hand anyway. He had a strong grip and it was different.
"I'm, uh, Alexander." He said a bit nervous. He let go of my hand and quickly looked back at our professor, making me tilt my head. I took in his appearance and smiled slightly. He had medium length black hair, that looked so soft to touch. These dark green eyes, and strong facial features.
Only after looking at his face did I recognize him as being in all my other classes. Why I didn't notice him before, I'll never know. "Please can I have your attention Elena." The professor said looking directly at me.
"Sorry, continue." I said back before taking one glance at the guy next to me. I tried to focus on the class I really did but I could only focus on the really cute boy next to me. He was wearing a tucked in white shirt and a pair of blue jeans. I tried to face away from him and focus on the teacher only realizing he was finished talking and everyone was getting ready to leave. I stood up as did Alexander and saw him looking at me.
"You're kind of blocking the way out." He said grabbing his shoulder bag.
"Sorry, I just.." I started to say before shutting my mouth seeing his expression. "Can you walk me to my next class?" I asked him smiling.
"Oh yeah we have classes together don't we?" He said following me out of the classroom. I nodded my head and made him chuckle. "Honestly I didn't think you knew I existed." He said as we walked by each other down the halls.
"So Alex, can I call you Alex?" I asked looking at him, seeing he was a few inches taller than me. Now that I gotta better look at him, he seemed to have alot of muscle, but he was hiding it under the baggy type clothes. I only could tell by the way he flexed involuntary in class.
"Yeah you can, I don't mind. I'm still shocked to see you talking to me, didn't think I was your type." He admitted shyly.
"What do you mean? I don't have a type." I said putting my hand over my heart in fake distress. He smiled over at me, pushing the glasses up on his face. I couldn't help but think of it being cute.
"No I think you do." He said putting his hands in his pocket. He looked ahead of him as I just looked down watching my feet. "In fact," He started to say nudging me in the arm and pointing to the all so familiar person walking towards us. "I think he is your type." He finished pointing at Jett making me hit my head with my hand.
"I'll uhm, talk to you later. Tell our teachers I'm sick please?" I asked him stopping the both of us from walking. "Here take my number, call me when the classes are over and what they say okay?" I asked him writing my number down on his hand with the pen I took from him. "Here don't hesitate, I gotta go." I said giving him the pen back and hurried away from the crowded hallway all of a sudden making me feel nauseous.
"Uh okay!" He yelled towards me as I ran down the hallway bumping hard into Jett making him fall on his butt. He looked angry and I just ignored him completely. I continued to run out of the hallway and before I knew it I was back in my dorm.
"Hey I thought you still had classes El." Emily said while she texted on her phone.
"Yeah but you'll never guess who's here and I met a cute boy." I said trying to calm my nerves.
"You think every boy is cute and who's here?" She said sitting up and looking over at me.
"This boys is different and it's Jett." I said falling onto the bed and sighing.
"No fucking way! That piece of shit is back?" She said in a angry tone. She looked at me with angry eyes.
"I can't believe that asshole is back." I said frustrated. "I told him to never be near me again. I hate him!" I said a bit to loudly.
"I agree, who does he think he is?" Emily said crossing her arms and closing her eyes.
"What are you thinking about?" I asked her looking at her concentrated face.
"Why don't we drink to forget about him tonight." Emily said smiling big. One of the many things I loved about her was that she knew me so well.
"I'm okay with that, how about the club downtown? Maybe I can bring the cute boy I was talking about." I said smiling big. She nodded her head and curled back up in her bed that was next to mine while turning netflix on.
So tonight we were gonna get wasted like old times. This will be fun.
