The Aretna

*Helmer's Point of View*

"What the hell are these plants! Why are we here? Where the heck are we anyway ?" I shouted out across the room.

Spectrum backed away. " These are obviously stinging nettles! And we're here because he wants to torture us. And we, right now, are in a room full of stinging nettles. Like duh ." She rolled her eyes.

She just made me sound like an idiot. But its not my fault. I mean these stinging nettles stung like freakin hell. How come I got stung and not she? Unfair!

Suddenly, there was the Voice speaking over the microphone.

"Cough cough, I , would like to say that Stinging Nettles department is to be put off for later. Thank you. Leave now. "

And magically, all the nettles turned to Tulips. No seriously they did.

I nudged Spectrum. "Dude. What the hell was that? How did they turn to Tulips? "

And she's all like " One of the easiest thing to master. But only works if you watered the nettles with your saliva."

"Wait..... This is actual real magic? Not a trick or anything? " I stared at her wide eyed.

"Yessss." She said it like it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Everyone knows that. Unless you're a Humani. "

Blinking my eyes like a maniac, I asked " Humani? Like Humans? And wait. Since when do people randomly become wizards and sorcerers and stuff? "

"Since always. Now hurry up, before the nettles turn back to nettles. "

Dumbfounded, I followed her to the door. And sure enough, a few seconds later, the Tulips were stinging nettles again.

*Quandi's Point of View*

I scrubbed the dish . It has been a day since I left Helmer in that place. Since then , I kept on hearing the mutters. The mutters of the Aretna.

They kept on telling me to get away, but I couldn't. This place was too cursed . Even for them . But each day they were getting stronger.

The Aretna were creatures . They weren't humans at all. I met my first one when I was a child. That particular day was horrid, and my master had at first whipped me for not making his tea exactly 50。Celsius .

Then later in the day he made me eat the chickens who were old or diseased. Then he joined his wife in taking me to the 'playground'. Actually for me it was the bullying area. All the children there had thrown everything they could at me, and someone threw something that was so sharp it cut my arm almost in half.

Later I found out it was a knife. A knife that looked exactly like the knife my Master had in her drawer. Even had the scratch on the edge. And my masters had a knife missing.

On that very day, I realised they were trying to kill me. I hadn't been able to sleep at night, and vowed to run away from them.

As the beautiful bright orange sun sank beneath the purple clouds, I gathered me stuff and left. Into the forest I ran blindly , only stopping to cut away the brambles and vines I got tangled in .

Finally I grew exhausted , and sat down in a stump. And I saw a creature. A magical looking one. It cautiously approached me, but soon let me pet it and lay down at my feet. It emitted an aura of peace and hope, an that calmed me down enough to fall asleep.

When I woke up, it was Dawn, and the creature was looking at me with its head tilted. It's sweet cotton candy coloured eyes stared at me playfully, and using it's caramel paw, it wrote a message.

Hello dear Humani.

You have managed to impress my kind by surviving with these horrid Sir Banananose and Madame Pleaseatishoo.

That is why I have come to visit you. I am one of the Aretna, and now also a helper. I shall help you, as long as you remain full of peace and hope. When you lose Hope and Peace, you lose me and the Aretna.

Now travel back to your masters, and we'll protect you until you find your way. Good luck.

And then , just like that, I knew the names of my masters, found out there was magic in the world, and I was a Humani, a Human, who impressed the magical creatures called the Aretna.

*Helmer's Point if View*

"Stop! Stop and explain what the heck is going on!" I grabbed Spectrum and whirled her around to face me.

"Fine. There are Magic creatures called the Aretna who basically invented magic, and gave that gift to some Humani. But these Humani got corrupted by all that power, so The Aretna removed all the magic and only gave one part of the gift to certain Humani. And so the Humani evolved into something that was half Human and half Creature , an now these things roam the earths full of magical powers. Done . Now lets go. "

I don't move. " And you're one of these Human Creature thing? "

Spectrum frowned at me . " No I'm not. I'm just a Humani who managed to impress the Aretna enough to get them to notice me , then I became friends with them and they trusted me enough with a power. "
