*Spectrums point of view*

I carefully approached Tsapa and the rat. "Tsapa?" I asked gingerly. " Tsa?" She hissed back. I didn't know how to answer that. So I stopped and looked at the rat. It was about the size of a cat, and had dull grey fur. It's red eyes stared angrily into Tsapa's greenish yellow ones. They seemed to be having a staring contest.

Helmer came up besides me. " How long do you think will it take?" He gestured towards them. "I bet it will take about three hours at least. " Shaking my head, I replied, " nah, it will probably take about 10 minutes at at least. "

But it took much less. Only a minute later, Tsapa let go of the rat, and sniffed the air. "I know you're, tsa, here. If you try to run away, tsa, I'm faster. So get out and, tsa, surrender, and I might consider not eating you. " The rat shook its head. "You'll never find me! Because I'm not here! I'm in the nettle pla......uh....I'm in another country! You'll never find me! Ha! Oh great. " it added, as Tsapa bounded of in the opposite direction. To our surprise, the rat scattered after her, shouting, " Wait! I'm not there! Come back ! Ugh goddamn it." The rat suddenly stopped and fell on it's side.

We glanced at each other. I picked up a stick and carefully approached the body, Helmer following me. "Touch it." He whispered. "No! You touch it." I whisper-shouted back. Helmer struggled for a minute. "I can't. I don't have the stick. " He replied smugly. I handed the stick to him. "You suck." He said, stretching out his arm and gently prodding the body. We held our breaths. Absolutely nothing happened.

I bit my lip. If it suddenly stood up and attacked us, we would probably be mortally wounded. But it seemed dead. " What do you reckon we should do?" Helmer asked me. I had no idea. " Well, you can always be a gentleman and make sure it's safe for me." I smiled sweetly at him. " Ah, yes. But, being a gentleman means ladies first."

I rolled my eyes. That stupid excuse is annoying in times like these. " Fine!" I took a deep breath. There's nothing to lose. Except some of my limbs. I thought to myself. Well, anyway, doesn't matter. I took a step forward. Wait. The rat really is dead. It's chest hasn't risen for about five minutes already. And from what I knew, the longest a rat could remain without breathing was about 15 minutes. But that was under water, and on land you will breathe, in most cases, wether you like it or not.

"Spectrum is scared! Spectrum is scared of a dead rat!" Helmer shouted behind me. That guy is a-

Mind interrupted me. Yes I know. Go make him check the rat. I turned around to face him. " Helmer. Come here. "

"And why should I obey you?" He asked, shrugging his shoulders.

"Because I have a chocolate bar in my back pack. "

"You don't have a back pack" he said, this time rather uncertainly.

"I do. And I have a chocolate bar in it, and I won't give it to you unless you come here. "

Helmer thought for a while. In the end, he agreed. " I'm only coming because you have food. That's it. " I smiled. Then I pushed him towards the rat. He stumbled, and fell, his fingertips just touching its tail. He froze. "Spectrum. Spectrum I think it's alive. Spectrum! Help! It's going to kill me ! " He closed his eyes. I erupted into laughter. "Ha! Who's scared now?"

Helmer opened one eye. "Wait..... You KNEW the rat was dead?! Girls! I hate them. " I grinned. " You don't, and you know it."

*Tsapa's Point of View*

Now that the tediously slow humans didn't need me, I could run at my full speed. Changing from a sprint into a gallop, I raced across the forest, manoeuvring around the trees and obstacles easily.
