nothing is permanent,
change is the only thing
that is sure to take place
in every person's life.
things are constantly caught up
in the process of change,
even the sturdiest mountains
can break, a few years
down the lane.
beliefs you have held close
to yourself all your life,
can be broken down
because of a few mediocre words.
we cannot stop change,
all we can really do
is change ourselves too,
shed our old personalities and become something new.
being scared of change
and hoping to stay the same
will never help,
all dark skies must give way
to the sun;
and all thrones of gold
will have to rust.
