*taneekas pov*
My plane finally lands and I call a Uber. I jump in and get dropped off down the road from his house. I thank the driver and climb out. I take a shaky breath and start walking. I freeze in front of my old home and see a little girl smiling at me.
"You are really pretty" She giggles
"And you are the most adorable girl I have ever seen" I smile at her
"Mummy come look at this girl she is really pretty!" The girl squeals
A beautiful mother walks out smiling.
"I'm Amanda" she shakes my hand
"Taneeka...I actually lived here a year ago" I smile at her
"It is a beautiful home...the paintings on the walls in the room with the balcony...did you make those?" She smiles
"Yes I did" I laugh
"You have a amazing talent" she smiles
"Thank you I better get going" I shake her hand and ruffle the little girls hair before walking to Daniels front door.
I pull in a shaky breath and knock once.
"Just a minute" I hear his voice and my heart leaps out of my chest
I hear a shuffle and then the door knob turns. He looks at me and then his eyes grow wide.
"Before you say anything.... I didn't say it back" I whisper
"Didn't say what back?" Daniel frowns
"I love you too" I blurt out
"You came all the way to tell me that?" Daniel laughs
"I love you Daniel I am in love with you" I pant
"Wait...you are being serious?" Daniel frowns
"Yes Daniel" I feel taken back
He thought I was joking.
"Danny who is it?!" I hear his mother yell
"It's Taneeka" Daniel calls back
"TANEEKA!?" She rushes out of the door and hugs me
"Hi Mrs Seavey" I laugh
"Oh honey we have known each other for 18 year now call me Keri" she laughs
I smile at her and Daniel clears his throat.
"I'm guessing that's meaning mum piss off....take her for a walk and talk to her Danny don't be shy" Keri slaps him playfully and he rolls his eyes
He grabs my bag and puts it in his room before grabbing my hand and pulling me towards he sidewalk.
"So" Daniel lets go of my hand and puts them in his pockets
"So" I cross my arms awkwardly
We get to the park and it's surprisingly empty. I sit on the swing and Daniel sits on the ground in front of me.
"Daniel I" he cuts me off with a hand raised in the air
"Taneeka....what made you do this?" He sighs
"What do you mean?" I feel my eyebrows move together in confusion
"Why are you here?" Daniel rolls his eyes
"What crawled up your ass and died?" I spit
"What do you mean!? I was with Angie and I was about to kiss her then you come along and tell me you love me" Daniel growls
My heart shatters. He never liked me. He never wanted me.
"Don't talk to me ever again. Don't text me and don't call me. Don't expect to see me when you get back" I push him and walk off
"Taneeka" Daniel sighs and chases after me
"Fuck off okay. I'm so done with you" I feel my eyes fill with tears
"Of course you're gonna cry" Daniel rolls his eyes
"Fuck. You" I spit and storm towards his house
I walk into his house and see Angie on the couch with Jeffery sitting beside her talking. They both look at me and then Keri's eyes grow wide as Daniel walks in slamming the door.
"So you are just gonna Leave?" He yells
"That's what you did" I feel a tear roll down my cheek
"Oh god" I see Keri put a hand over her mouth
"I wish you never came to LA" Daniel spits
"DANIEL!" Keri hisses
"I wish 18 years ago I never fucking met you because you are a selfish bastard and all you do is sleep around with girls and make me look after your hungover ass" I yell before storming out of the house.
"DANIEL JAMES SEAVEY YOU WILL GO OUT THERE AND APOLOGISE TO TANEEKA" I hear Jeffery's voice boom
"SHE CAN ROT IN HELL FOR ALL I CARE"
"DANIEL JAMES SEAVEY" Keri screams
"I'm going home" I turn and see Angie running out of the house
Tears stream down my cheeks and the Uber finally pulls up. I climb in and see Daniel walking out following Angie. I stare at the back of the headrest and the Uber pulls to a stop. I pull it my phone and call Jack.
J: Hey what's up angel?
T: can I come to your house
J: Uh sure
T: thank you be there in a few hours
J: see you soon beautiful
T: see you soon Jack
I hang up and get on the first flight to Pennsylvania.
