A few years ahead of what was going on with Ron and the alien girl, Chris was riding through the town of Dahlonega as he was inside of his ship. He was taking a stroll through town like usually has been doing for the past few months.
Ever since Chris figured out that his fictional crew was real, he has then hung out with them. Nobody on his phone nor school ever got to see him anymore. Most people at school assumed he died, but Chris was actually gaining school lessons faster from Saphire, and she was glad to help him. Chris was also quiet because he did not know how to tell anyone that he was all-of-a-sudden dating a girl that was still considered a ghost. Chris was not the Chris that the crew knew. This Chris was human and did not appear to have the looks of a supermodel (isn't that how most people make characters in book? The most handsome person in the world who is too charming to ignore?); he was just a normal Latino who was really kind to each one. This was the reason why they decided to stay with him.
Chris was currently driving fast. This was something that most people did not care too much about in Dahlonega. "Cum on Feel the Noize" by Quiet Riot was playing in the ship's built in speakers. This ship ran most of it's music through cassettes and jukeboxes. Anyone could tell that Chris appeared to have something on his mind. It was as if something was making him sad, but he was trying to ignore that thought and focus on driving. He was able to fully get rid of this sadness once Mary came in.
Mary really did dress rather different than most of the girls he met. She liked more vintage material. Today she decided to wear black leather pants, an Iron Maiden crop top, and she wore a brown leather jacket. She never wore make-up, but she seemed to make her white hair flow-she did not have her true hair color because she was still a ghost. Chris smiled seeing her, and she sat down and looked at him. "So how are you today?"
"Ah you know just the same old same old. I am enjoying this little drive I am having."
"You seem to be listening to quite a bit of Quiet Riot huh?" It struck him that "Metal Health (Bang Your Head)" was playing by Quiet Riot, and he chuckled a bit.
"Yeah I guess you are right about that. I am just letting the cassette play through." Mary giggled and kissed him on the cheek as she looked at him.
"Well I have a question that the crew has been dying to know."
"And what is that?"
"Well..your father knows about us, but your other friends.. where have they been?"
"Well I have been so busy that I haven't really focused on them or my phone in general."
"Oh okay. How about we turn back and have some lunch huh?"
"Sounds great!" Chris exclaimed and made a U-turn when nobody was around. He then drove down into the Steak & Shake that he enjoyed going to as he heard that the radio there was playing "The LumberJack" by Jackyl. He looked inside of the ship, and he showed that Mary could come in. Ruby, Emerald, and Saphire asked for the kinds of toppings they enjoyed on their meals, and Chris jotted them down on a piece of paper, and he walked in. Mary was astonished because she felt like she entered a different decade; a decade with a diner to it.
The waitress was one of Chris's old buddies from eighth grade, Chloe, and he waved at her as she waved back. She saw Mary and seemed somewhat happy that Chris found someone after a long while. The other waitress had a bright smile as she appeared to be a Senior. "Ma'am you have the prettiest hair I have ever seen!" The girl exclaimed to Mary, and Mary flushed since not many girls complimented her hair.
