They all gave Ben a boost up so he could grab Beverly who was still floating in mid air. He took hold of her shoes, grunting. He pulled her down and Beverly landed on her feet. Elena's jaw quivered when she saw her only female friends eyes. They were glassy and extremely dead looking.
"Bev!" Ben put his hands on either side of her head and shook it gently. "Beverly! Why isn't she waking up?!" He sobbed, looking around at them. Elena stepped back and bit her lip, praying Bev would wake up. "What is wrong with her?! Beverly, please! Come on!" He wrapped his arms around her and hugged her close.
They all exchanged scared looks. Why wasn't their friend waking up?
Ben released her and looked at her face for a moment. Then, he did the unexpected. Ben smashed his lips on to hers.
"Woah, woah," Eddie said.
"Ew," Richie scrunched up his nose. Elena glared at him. He cleared his throat and looked away. Mike and Stan furrowed their eyebrows, shocked by this movement.
Once Ben backed away, nothing happened. Bev stayed on her dead like state. But then, her eyes turned normal again and she gasped for air. Elena let out a sigh of relief.
Beverly stared at the boy in front of her. "..January embers," She whispered.
"My heart burns there too," Ben smiled at her. The rest of them didn't know it, but Bev and Ben were quoting a poem Ben had sent Beverly the previous month anonymously.
"Jesus, fuck," Richie grinned at them, a look of relief all over his face. He hugged the two of them, Elena joining in.
"Oh, god," Mike sighed and joined the hug. They all hugged in a big group, staying there for a moment. Elena heard footsteps walking off, and looked over. Eddie was stumbling around the huge pile of broken toys.
They all let go of each other and looked over to Eddie. They followed him. The group walked around the stack and stopped in their tracks once they saw Bill, shining his flashlight on his missing brother, Georgie.
"Georgie," Bill breathed, putting his flashlight down by his side. Georgie walked out into the open, revealing that he only had one arm. The other looked as if it had been ripped off.
"What took you so long?" The young boy whined. In his hand, he clutched a paper boat. Bill gasped once he saw his arm.
"..I was looking for you this whole time!" Bill replied, his voice shaking.
"I couldn't find my way outta here," Georgie complained, frowning. "He said I could have my boat back, Billy,".
Bill breathed heavily. "Was she fast?".
"I couldn't keep up with it," Georgie replied.
"She, Georgie. You call boats She," Bill said.
