-Aria's POV-
I sat in the passenger seat of Anthony's car as he sped towards the cemetery. Rain pitter-pattered on the car as we drove down the empty streets. My elbow rested on the car window, and my head rested in my hand. I couldn't believe this was actually going to happen. I was going to be able to live again. I died, and I'm going to live again. Just how exciting is that!?!
"We're almost there," Anthony announced.
"I know," I remarked. I'd walked this cemetery countless times, often stopping at my grave and staring at it, trying to get it through my head that I was dead, this was my grave that I was staring at, and it was my body that was six feet below and most likely all bones by now.
He pulled into the parking lot and turned the car off. "You've got the pacifier and locket?" I made sure. He nodded his head as he pulled out the two trinkets from his pockets. I nodded my head and got out of the car. He did too and went around to the back, pulling out the shovel he would use to help Mrs. Cullen exhume the casket. He slammed his trunk down and walked up beside me.
"You ready?" He asked.
I shook my head yes and I began to lead him to the back of the graveyard, where my grave was. In the moonlight sat Kalel's mom on a bench. Her head was tilted down and her hands were in her lap. But something seemed off, I couldn't place my finger on it.
"Mrs. Cullen! We're here!" Anthony called out to her as he picked up his pace, jogging over to her. I appeared next to him and got a better look at "Mrs. Cullen". She seemed younger. A lot younger. "Kalel's mom" stood up and in a deep, low voice said, "You brought the shovel?"
"Yes," Anthony answered, showing her the shovel.
"Good, let's get started."
The two of them walked over to the grave and stuck the shovels into the ground, pulling up the dirt that covered the casket. That's when I noticed someone sitting by the mausoleum close by. I walked over there and bent down. I gasped, seeing their face.
"Anthony!" I screamed. He looked over at me just as "Mrs. Cullen" picked up her shovel and hit Anthony in the head with it. I shrieked in horror as I rushed over to him, failing to pick him up in my arms. Blood was starting to soak his dark brown hair on the back of his head.
"Mrs. Cullen" pulled down her hood to reveal that teal hair I'd seen before. Kalel's. "You..." I said as I rose to my feet and glared at her.
Obviously Kalel couldn't hear or see me because she walked right through me and bent down as if I wasn't here, retrieving the things out of Anthony's pockets and pocketing them for herself. She looked to her left and right before she started making her way out of the cemetery.
"Hey!" I shouted as I followed her, "Hey! Kalel! Stop!"
Kalel slowed down in her tracks. She must've heard me.
"Those don't belong to you," I added as she turned around, her eyes widening when she saw me.
"W-w-who are you?" She retorted nervously.
I stuck my hand out, "Anthony's imaginary friend. Now hand over the pacifier and the locket."
"NEVER!" She shouted before running away from me. I rolled my eyes and made myself disappear, reappearing in the passenger seat of the car she drove here. She got in the driver's side and hastily started the car up.
"Hello again," I greeted. She screamed, pushing open her car door and attempting to run away again. But just like last time, I had manifested right where she thought she was safe. "You realize I'm a ghost, right? You can't run from me."
"Stay away from me! I hate you!" She yelled at me, throwing the trinkets down on the ground and approaching me, "You fucking ruined my life!"
"I didn't ruin anything."
"He was going to marry me!" She continued, tears streaming down her cheeks as she trembled in fear, "Me! But no, he leaves me at the altar because of you," She tried to poke me in the chest though her finger just went right through me. She immediately retracted her finger and looked at me like I was a freak (which I won't say I'm not, but...), "This...this is madness! You're imaginary!"
"Do I look imaginary to you?" I asked her, crossing my arms over my chest.
She shook her head, "I don't care if you're imaginary or not, you fucking ruined my life. And now it's my turn to ruin yours." She picked up the trinkets and waved them in the air, "These are what Anthony and my mom need to bring you back, right?" I remained silent, waiting to see what she would do with them. "Right?"
"Y-yes," I stuttered in response.
"You want them, right?" She asked, taking a step closer to me.
"Y-yes," I repeated.
"WELL TOO BAD!" She shouted, throwing them into the road, where, as if planned, a car sped by and ran over the items, breaking the pacifier into pieces and bending the locket this way and that. I stared at the road in disbelief. "HA!"
I gulped and turned my attention to Anthony's ex-fiance, "Kalel, that's your name, right?"
"What does it matter to you?" She retorted, putting her hands on her hips.
"You love Anthony, right?"
Kalel hesitated to answer before saying, "Yes."
"And you'd do anything to make him happy, am I correct?"
"Why are you asking me all these questions?"
I took a step towards her and said, "You were the one who ruined your own life, Kalel." I began to walk around her, "I've watched you your entire relationship with Anthony. From your first date to when he proposed to you. I know you love Anthony and I know you're willing to do anything to make him happy. So answer me this: Why did you just destroy the only thing that would make what he needs to be happy possible?"
She stared at me, speechless.
"Well?"
"I...I..."
"You can't answer me, can you?" She struggled to find the words to respond. I smirked, "I was your mom's best friend too, I hope you realize that. I know her. And I know she'd be very disappointed to see what you just did."
"I don't care," She finally remarked, "My mother betrayed me."
"No, you betrayed her." Again with the inability to reply. I smirked, "Not only did you betray your mother," I added, "But you betrayed Anthony. You betrayed Ian. And all for what? To make sure that your ex-fiance would stay with you when he never really love you?"
"He...he..."
"Admit it, Kalel, he never loved you as much as you loved him."
"Shut up!" She screamed, "He loved me! He loves me. And if making sure you never come to life is what needs to be done to show him that, then so be it." She walked right through me. I spun around and saw her get in her car, only to drive away.
I stood there for a little, thinking about what Kalel said. "He loved me," I mumbled under my breath, mocking her. "He loves me." I heaved a sigh, and sat down, picking up a wild flower and sighing. "He loves me," I picked off one petal. "He loves her," I picked off another. I went through four more petals before making my decision on what I was going to do.
I stood up and vanished, materializing next to Anthony, who was moaning in pain. I knelt beside him and leaned over, kissing him on the lips softly. "I'm sorry, Anthony. But there's a slight change of plans." I stood back up and sighed, closing my eyes and reappearing in the one place I never wanted to go again. I walked up to the desk and smiled, "Long time no see," I greeted. He looked up at me and his eyes widened.
