Chapter 5

Sky's POV

I limped threw out the darkening forest my feet hurt my side hurt and my tail was no better I keepers walking it I came to a small over hang I a cliff tiered and hungry I sleepily burn a stone slate and lay down I was half way asleep when growls started to come from the evening forest I stared out into the dark when acid starts to fly toward me I roared in anger and I realized what was shooting at me a group of changewings crawled down from the trees eyes glowing with fury I was trapped between 3 acid spitting dragons and a stone wall I dodged another shot of acid when I got an idea another shot was fired and I acted like I had been hit I laid on the ground pretending to be dead I made my blue eyes fade to a blueish gray one of the changewings stepped forward and smelled my "dead" body it turned and growled to the others and they flew off and disappeared into the night sky I opened my eyes and got up I changed my eye color back to the original blue I shook the dirt an gravel off my scales and I decided I shouldn't stay here I looked up at were the changewings had flown off I thought to myself, "those dragons are such idiots."

I was walking till I came to the beach again but this one was different it had rocks in the water and the sand looked disturbed I looked around to see a drop of blood I looked down and sniffed it I recognized the sent it was amber's I got the trail and ran thew the forest dodging fallen trees and rocks I ran until I lost her sent at the cliff side of a cove I turned and raced back into the forest I slowed my pace and walked and walked till I was about to faint I gave up for that night and crawled up on a tree I looped my tail around a thick branch and hung there upside down
I missed Amber and and flying I remember a faint memory of my mother she was white and red with hints of black she had pale blue eyes and my father he was black and and with a white stripe running down his back and he had shocking blue stripes and spots my mother's name was breeze and my father's name is nebula I had a sister and a brother I was the youngest my sister's was a blackish blue with white spots her name was galaxy and my bother was white like mom but he had black markings on his face his name was borealis I was only with them for 5 full moons in that time

I was the first to start flying my brother stargazed and was to busy sleeping during the day so he never attempted to fly my sister on the other claw tried flying but she never got the point you need to flap your wings to fly.

Everything was all cod and no eel till I woke up one early morning with my mother nuzzling me.

I heard my father's roars of anger and battle I jumped to my feet and raced to his side to see men at the foot of the cave they had torches and swords my father looked back at his mate and kids he ran up next to mother and purred.

"You need to get the kids to safety."

"But what about you dad," galaxy said while jumping on top of father.

Father reached back and picked galaxy by her tail.

"I'll be with you in a moment just follow your mother," he purred.

Mother walked in front of father and her eyes filled with sadness she licked his head and put her head on father's shoulder father looked at her and sadly said, "you need to go now I will join you in a moment."

Mother nodded in agreement and gathered me and my siblings up and pushed us toward the back entrance of the cave I ran back to father and saw him fighting off more angry men. A man behind father held a sword in his had ready to strike I panicked then I realized I had fire I just never used it gathered the gas in my mouth instinctively a spark formed in the back of my throat and shot at the man a icy blue flame shot at the man and it knocked the sword from his hand and made him fall to the ground father turned and saw the man.

"oh sky you shot fire I am so proud.

I looked at father and said "Your not coming are you" he looked at me and said "most likely not my daughter."

"I love you daddy," I said.

"I love you too my daughter he said looking down at me remember to keep the family safe." he said to me.

I nodded and he pushed me toward the back of the cave now go and be careful he said to me before turning to fight off the men again I ran toward back of cave to find mother and the others gone I looked over the side of the cave to see mother and the others running down the side of the cliff I ran down to catch them I caught up to them and once we reached the valley men came from the trees and surrounded us me and my sister and bother gathered around mother in fear mother growled in rage and pure fury men started to rush in toward me and I started to fire at them when instinct took over then mother started to fire away also come on
I yelled at my siblings

"Are you just going to stand there like dead eels or are you going to help."

Galaxy stepped forward gathered up the gas in her own mouth and shot out at a man white fire hit the man in the chest and he fell to the ground

"Good job," I told her "now your turn borealis" I told my bother.

He as well gathered the gas and a ball of electric green fire shot forward knocking down two men my mother soon ran out of shots for a unknown reason my back started to have a faint icy blue glow which spread to my tail thew my wings and my feet to my ears and my muzzle I roared in fear this has never happened but my fear soon faded and turned to anger as five men tackled mom to the she let out a screech of surprise and anger soon more men started to surround us two men grabbed borealis and one reached for Galaxy she reacted and swatted the the man across the face and I shot him in the chest but this time my plasma blast was about 2x larger and louder the man went flying back about 7ft till landing I could question this turn of events later
I quickly flew up in the air and made a ring of fire around the rest of my family galaxy shot the two men off of borealis while I shot the men off of mom I soon made a plan to make it to make it to the shore line then from there a small hidden cave near Ravin point suddenly a sharp like sound cut thew the air and I hear the blood curdling roar of mom I whip around to see mom fall to the ground a trail of thick red blood seeped from the arrow in her side I ran to her side and looked into her pale blue eyes which I noticed were turning almost a gray color

"Be brave my daughter you have been blessed with a great untold legend."

I didn't understand what she was saying but I still listened.

"I love you sky lead this family well," my mother head went limp and I laid my head on my mother's I lifted my head and roared in sorrow.

I flash back into reality that's all I remembered I wrapped my electric ice blue marked wings around me when I hatched I was just a plan black dragon but then suddenly these markings started to appear and they have stayed on me since but I think of the markings as a curse I was afraid to become friends with amber in fear of hurting her I realized the more I grow the even more power fills my blasts are I shot at a nadder who was trying to well...kill me I accidentally hit it and it went fell to the ground with a broken wing if I could do that at 9 moons old I can't imagine what I can do now at 14 years so I never use my plasma blasts I soon decided to close my eyes and fall asleep.
