I got all of my admittance papers in order and the receptionist told me to wait while she got my class schedule from the printer. "Here you go sweetheart. Would you like to sign up for any of our sports or extracurricular clubs?" She asked me enthusiastically. "Yes actually, netball please." I said politely while she put my sport into the system. "You can try out for the team tomorrow after school." She informed me. I nodded politely and turned around bumping into somebody. "I'm so sorry!" I said frantically rushing to pick up the persons books. "It's okay, thanks for the help picking them up." A deep voice said. I looked up to see a rather good looking guy in front of me. "The names Aaron, Aaron fields." He introduced himself. "I'm Paige, Paige Gilbert." I said back. "You're Elena's sister aren't you?" He said. "Yip. That's me." I said. He nodded. "You're new?" Aaron asked. "Right again." I said cheekily. He smiled. "Do you know how to get to your first class?" He asked. I checked my schedule and realized that I had history first. "Nope, history. Mr Sultzman?" I asked . "I have him second period. I can show you the way if you want. It's on my way to maths anyways." He offered. "Yes please. I have no idea where I'm going." I laughed. He opened the door for me and gestured for me to go out first. I smiled thankfully. We made small chit chat on the way to our classes. He stopped at a door. "History class I presume." I said. He nodded and smiled. "Yeah, well have a good first day Paige. I hope to see you soon." He said while walking away smirking. I just smiled.

Aaron fields.

I knocked on the door of the history class as Alaric opened for me. He smiled and ushered me in. "Class, we have a new student." He said. "Would you like to introduce yourself?" He asked, I nodded and walked forward. "My names Paige Gilbert and I just moved here from Beacon Hills." I said. I looked to Ric and he nodded to an empty table at the back were I went to sit. Classes went on throughout the day. I kept to myself. Stealing glances at Aaron whenever I could. He seemed to be in an older year than me. I noticed a few strange looks from girls and a few appreciative glances from guys. The day had finally come to an end. I went to my locker with my earphones in playing wicked ways by Eminem. I was startled by a locker abruptly closing next to me. I looked to see who it was and sighed of relief that it was only Aaron. "Hey." He said. "Hi." I smiled at him. "How was your first day at mystic falls high?" Aaron asked me. "It was good I guess, I mostly kept to myself." I replied. "That's a shame, I know a few people who really want to meet you, I could introduce you tomorrow at lunch if you like." He said. "Yeah sure that sounds awesome, I'm in need of a few friends." I joked. He smiled. "Well you've already got me." He shrugged. I smiled as he threw his arm over my shoulders and we walked out together chatting. We walked through the doors to exit the school and then through the grounds to the parking lot. We walked like that for a while, his arm around my shoulders as we talked. I stopped dead in my tracks when I caught sight of Damon standing by his car. He looked furious. "Hey Damon." I said, suddenly sounding nervous. "Paige, get in the car."Damon said shortly. I was shocked by his instruction and tone of voice. "He's supernatural, I can smell it." Damon finished. I walked into Damon's outstretched arms so he was holding me firmly with my back to his chest. Aaron looked at us skeptically. "What are you Aaron?" I asked him. "A werewolf Paige, is it really that big of a deal!" He yelled heatedly. "Yes. Yes it is a big deal. You could hurt her... or worse. Your kind are no friends of ours." Damon seethed. "You're vampires." Aaron concluded. "He is , I'm a dark angel witch hybrid." I corrected him. "Why do you hang out with bloodsuckers like him Paige. He could hurt you just as much as I could." Aaron reasoned with me and Damon. "I would never hurt Paige!" Damon shouted. "Aaron relax. I trust him. In fact... I'm living with him." I told him. Aaron looked shocked. "I thought you were single Paige." Aaron said with a defeated tone while Damon gave him the death stare. "I am! I live with him so that he can protect me,he's also a really good friend of Elena's I guess ." I said. Aaron's mood seemed to brighten at that information. "I'll see you tomorrow at lunch Paige. Be careful." He said as he waved goodbye and winked at me while Damon continued to give him multiple dirty looks. "Damon, you can let go of me now." I smiled up at him. He let go of me but he didn't smile back, he just got into the car and waited for me to get in too. I climbed into the passenger seat, realizing that something was wrong. "Okay spill, why are you so pissed off all of a sudden." I said to Damon, slightly annoyed by his actions. No response. I gave him a death glare that obviously hit a literal nerve in his head which caused him to swerve on the road. "God Paige! Don't do that." Damon yelled. "Answer me!" I yelled back. "You're fraternizing with the enemy Paige. It's obvious that he likes you. I don't trust him, he's going to hurt you. I don't want you to see him anymore. It's for your own protection." He said with a somber tone. How dare he tell me who not to hang out with. "Fine Damon. I won't see him." I lied through my teeth. We spent the entire ride in silence while I stared out the window and he kept his eyes fixed intently on the road. We finally arrived at the house. I didn't even wait for the car to come to a complete stop before I got out and walked furiously through the front door. He followed quickly behind me. "Paige wait! Can we atleast talk about all this." Damon yelled after me. "No!" I yelled and sped to my room and shut the door,I then proceeded to lock it and flop down on my bed. "What the hell happened now." Stefan sighed. "It's a long story." Damon said through gritted teeth as he stormed off the to the bar counter for some bourbon.

It was 20:00 and I was still locked in my room. Stefan had tried everything to get me out or to even get me to talk to him. I got my phone out of my bag and texted Aaron.
"Hey Aaron. Do you wanna come over at 23:00 to chill for a while tonight. Xx Paige."
He texted back almost immediately.
"Sure sounds awesome. Where?"
He asked.
"Salvatore boarding house. Come in through the second floor window, third from the left. Wouldn't want Damon knowing that you're here xx."
I replied. He replied with a smirky face. It was only eight so I still had 3 hours. I fixed my outfit, hair and makeup and tidied my room a bit. I still had an hour so I plugged my earphones in and started to write by the window seat. An hour later a stone hit my window lightly. I looked and saw Aaron. I smiled. He jumped up to window sill and came in. "Hey" He said. "Hi" I said.
