Realisation

There they all were. My supposed protectors. "Aww. You all came to join our little game. How fun!" I screeched delightedly. "Paige! No. We're here to save you, to help you. We care about you." Elena replied rather weakly. I couldn't hold it in any longer and I just burst out into laughter. "My dear sister Elena who has a "deep seated concern for my well being", pfft,as if. In your eyes I've only ever been a burden. And then there's you Jeremy, my poor sweet big bro. You really try don't you?" He tried to answer but I cut him off. "Ahh, you brought Bonnie! I knew you'd bring her, you lot are helpless without her. Wake up Bonnie! They're just using you hun, when will you see that." I laughed as I spoke. To be honest I couldn't tell you where all of my courage was finally coming from but it was fueling me. Klaus was leaning against the wall looking rather amused. I carried on. "And Stefan! Hi Stefan. The man with the plans, the one who just has to control every little bit of every little situation. You don't really think Elena will stay with you do you? She dropped Matt, what makes you think she'll stay with you?" He looked shocked at my words and tried to speak but I stopped him. "I'm not finished yet." I said as I shot him a sharp glance. "And finally Damon. My sweet , sexy Damon." Klaus tensed when I spoke Damon's name, almost as if he was jealous. I carried on "so wrapped up in your love for me that you haven't even bothered to ask if I feel the same way. It's funny actually, I haven't quiet decided yet. Klaus is also currently drawing my attention and he doesn't actually care wether or not I'm part demon. In fact, I think he may actually like me more for it. It's nice to not be judged. Ok now I'm done Stefan, you can say all the hero stuff you want to say now."

Every single one of them looked shaken to the core. It was Damon who spoke first since Stefan was still in his state of shock. "Paige,angel. What's happened to you? What did he do you to you!" He yelled as his voice kept rising. Klaus laughed and Damon attempted to lunge at him but Stefan and Jeremy held him back. "Oh Damon you complete idiot" Klaus laughed. "He didn't do anything to me babe. I just needed to release some steam and Klaus here so kindly offered to bring me out to this quaint little spot full of bad people to eat." Damon went rigid. He'd never seen this side of me before and I could tell that it was scaring him slightly. Elena and Jeremy had already seen the little monster inside of me of course, I think it was just a shock for them to see how big my little monsters appetite had become.

"Paige please , this isn't you." Jeremy pleaded. I stared right at him, a glint of mischief in my eye. "Well you see dear brother, that's where you're wrong. This is the most me I've ever felt. I haven't felt this free ever, this open to the world. Today was the first day I've looked at myself in the mirror and not been terrified by what I've seen. Jeremy this is me, that other girl was just a scared, helpless child. I am the upgraded better version of her. As far as I'm concerned, I've done you all a favor by getting rid of her and besides, I'm not doing anything really wrong. I'm just eating a few pimps and men who like to harass women. I'm doing this world a favor honestly. You all should be thanking me." I said to the group. Klaus, who had been standing near by watching the entire scene unfold, finally spoke. "Paige is right and you all know it. Besides that, she's also looks like perfection when she's like this. Every little bit of her is perfect and I find her murderous tendencies really sexy, so we're going to go before you lot decide to ruin our fun. Come on love, let's go have our own little party." Klaus said. And we hoped in his car and sped off. Leaving the others in complete shock. The last thing I saw was Damon's reflection in the rear view mirror, he looked absolutely defeated.

Damon's P.O.V

Seeing Paige that way was a huge shock for me. I mean I'd always known she was a literal demon or at least she possessed demon-like abilities. I had always just thought of her as my angel though, my perfect little angel who wouldn't hurt anyone. She just seemed so... so good. The women I just saw definitely couldn't of been Paige, not the one I knew anyways. "What the hell happened to Paige!" Stefan finally asked. "She's changed brother, she's flipped her switch." I replied almost automatically. I'd seen this type of thing happen so many times over my many years of life, it just felt different with her. Like she didn't have a switch, I was clearly very wrong in thinking that. Everyone was quiet for what seemed like an eternity and then suddenly Elena just dropped to the ground crying. "It's all my fault." She kept repeating as she cried. Stefan tried to comfort her but it clearly wasn't working. Maybe it was all her fault, maybe it was mine. I can't think about this right now though.

"Ok everyone, listen up! Paige had flipped her humanity switch, so that means we have to find a way to flip it back on before she hurts more people. The first thing we'll need to do is find her. Bonnie do you think you could get working on a tracking spell?" I asked as the others listened intently and she nodded. "Great, everyone gather what you need and meet back at the boarding house in 2 hours. I'm gonna find Ric and fill him in on the situation." Everyone nodded and agreed and then we split up and went our separate ways.

Paige's P.O.V

Klaus and I drove back to his house with Machine Gun Kelly's Bloody Valentine blasting through the speakers. Klaus laughed at me as I kneeled on his passenger seat dancing like a drunk woman. "This is the most fun I've had in ages Klaus, thank you so much!" I yelled over the music to the handsome British bloke next to me. He gave me his signature smirk and said, "it's been a pleasure love but you did make me promise to keep you in control. So I think it's time we flip that switch back." I rolled my eyes at him in an annoyed manner. "I'm not flipping my switch back Klaus. Not now, not ever! I'm fully in control of myself now Klaus. I'm aware of my actions and honestly...I went easy on that guy back at the bar. I like this version of me, please don't make me go back." I pleaded with him. "You made me promise you love, and I always keep my word. You can switch it back when we're back in the house and then you can decide how you want to live. Deal?" He asked. I just nodded in response and grabbed his hand resting on the center consul.

I already knew what I was going to do. Humanity on or not. My decision was made. If he wanted me to make it with my emotions on I would.
