Paiges POV

My names Paige Gilbert I'm Elena and Jeremy's younger sister. I'm 17. I was sent to a reformatory school for the troubled.

I'm back in town for my aunts funeral. I know, I know ... how tragic , another funeral for the Gilbert family . By now I'm sadly used to them. So anyways, for the first time in my entire life I saw 2 men who I've never seen before. Now for me that's strange because it's hard to not know someone in a small town like mystic falls ...they must be new.

One of them walked up to us and kissed Elena. Her new boyfriend, I though to myself. When him and Elena were done eating each others faces off , he pulled away and introduced himself to me. "Stefan Salvatore, you must be Paige." He said with amusement in his voice. "Hi" I replied nonchalantly . To be honest I'm not really interested in meeting Elena or Jeremy's new friends , after all they are just going to send me back to sword and across ( the name of the reformatory school) as soon as this whole dead aunt thing blows over. "Paige! Could you please at least try and be nice while your here." Elena said in a cold tone. With that I stormed off to my special place. "Paige wait!" Jeremy shouted. I was already back in my own world walking towards the cemetery to sit by my parents grave. "Thanks Elena , now we have an angry screwed up sibling to go find!" Jeremey shouted at her. "What does he mean screwed up?" Stefan asked skeptically. "It's a long story." Elena sighed. "Let's just go home and wait for her to turn up." Jeremey suggested. With that, they all left and went back home, everyone except me ... and Damon.

I was sitting by my parents grave remembering when I was here for their funeral 2 years ago. I liked to go and sit by their grave, it made me feel close to them again. I had my earphones in while I was sitting opposite the grave with Troye Sivan's blue neighborhood album playing on repeat. I closed my eyes and just soaked in the sunlight, that was until a shadow blocked the sun from hitting my body. I looked up and saw an amazingly attractive man staring down at me. "I'm Damon Salvatore", he introduced himself to me. "My names Paige and I don't care." I shot back. "Paige? As in Paige Gilbert , that Paige?" He questioned. "Yeah , how'd you know?" I asked Damon,slightly surprised that he knew who I was. " well your sister is dating my brother." He laughed. So he's the other Salvatore brother Elena hasn't shut up about. "You're the dick my dear sister won't stop warning me about." I stated slyly. "Yip. That would be me"he chuckled. "Now that introductions are out of the way would you kindly leave me alone?" I asked politely. He smirked , his face contorting so sexily. I had to shake myself out of my trance before he caught me staring. I can't like him! I mean I've just met him and not only that, he's also my OLDER sisters boyfriends OLDER brother. He's probably way too old for me.
"Paige? Helloooo anyone home?" He asked while he snapped his fingers in front of my face. "I should get you home , they've all been worried sick about you you know." He said. "They don't care about me , I'm a just a burden to them. As soon as everything's cooled down they'll just send me back to that awful school!" I said heatedly with tears in my eyes. God I hate when I cry in front of people. He looked taken aback by my outburst. "Hey,hey look at me. I know I've only just met you but you don't seem like that bad a kid, plus of course they care about you. You're their younger sister." He said sweetly. " you don't think I'm bad because you've only just met me and yeah maybe they care about me , but deep down I know that I scare them, that's why I'm in a school miles from here." I practically whispered. We just sat there in silence for a few minutes before he spoke. "Paige, I seriously doubt that you're a bad person." He spoke softly. "Stop saying that! You don't know anything about me, why I was sent away , what I've done!" I'm a mess Mr. Salvatore. I'm just going to get home so they can send me back already, waiting will just make it worse." I said , the defeat evident in my voice. "I'll walk you." Damon offered. "No thanks , I'm fine. I can manage myself." I assured him. With that I started walking out. I looked back to see his clear blue eyes fixed intently on me. That's how I left him, standing in the graveyard and obviously curious and intrigued by me.

I walked through the front door of what was supposedly my home. Elena came rushing to the door and wrapped me in a hug. She was rambling on and kept apologizing for yelling at me. "Hey Elena chill, I was only gone for like 2 hours." I said calmly. Just then Jeremy walked in and proceeded to give me a hug so intense that it lifted me off of the ground. I've always had a stronger relationship with Jer than I have with Elena. He just gets me more I guess. "So now that the funerals over when are you sending me back to that horror show of a school?" I asked.  Elena and Jermey exchanged looks and then Jeremy spoke the most surprising sentence I've ever heard leave his lips in my entire life. "We were thinking that you could stay here with us, we know you don't like that school so we figured we could just enroll you into mystic falls high." I was shocked to say the least. "I mean , only if you want to." Elena chimed in. "Of course i would!" I practically screeched. I was overjoyed at the thought of being able to stay at home like a normal kid again. "Wait, where will I sleep, Alaric's got my room and I wouldn't want to barge in and take it from him." I said. Jeremy and Elena exchanged another look , this one a little more serious than the last. "You see that's the only thing , if you're going to stay in mystic falls you know the originals will come after you in this house. It's unprotected and Bonnie isn't strong enough to put a full protective ward on it." Elena started. "So you're going to have to stay at the Salvatore's for now." Jeremy finished. Wait what , was I hearing this correctly. My siblings want me to stay in the same house as the man who I treated like shit and had a mental breakdown in front of, not to mention the fact that he's insanely hot and is trying to find out my secrets. " why is that a better place for me to stay?!" I asked sounding really shocked. "Their vampires Paige, they can protect you." Jeremy said. Okay vampires , no big deal for a dark angel witch hybrid like myself! "Gee this is going to be great, do they know what I am?" I asked. "Well Stefan will tell Damon. So yeah they know. They'll be able to better protect you if they know what you are." Elena reasoned with me. "Fine, when do I go?" I asked. "We've already packed your stuff , so as soon as possible Paige." Jer told me. "Yay... two types of demons under one roof, I'm so excited." I spat sarcastically. Elena and Jeremy rolled their eyes like typical annoyed Gilbert's would. We chucked my stuff in the car and started the drive to my new home, how fun.
