(your pov)

... A man with a piece of toast in their mouth....and.....they...are....PURPLE!

Y/n- VINCE!

He turned so fast he nearly dropped his buttered toast... almost. But he caught it in his hand as his jaw dropped in shock and awe.

V- Y-Y/n!?

He just stared at the spot he first saw me in as I ran towards him and engulfed him in a strong hug. I felt a single tear dropping onto my shoulder as he slowly wrapped his arms around me and pulled me tightly against his chest.

V- Holy c... You're actually here...you came back.

Y/n- Of course I did! I promised, didn't I?

V- Yeah... Yeah, you did. I missed you so much.

Y/n- I missed you too...

We held each other tighter for a moment before slowly letting go of the embrace. Instantly, I missed his warmth, but I didn't show it.

V- Anyways... What are you doing back here? Uh, the office I mean.

Y/n- Oh yeah, I'm looking for the Boss's office. I applied for the mechanic job.

V- Huh... didn't know we had an opening for that... anyways, the Boss's office is actually in a separate building out back. I don't know why, but that's how it is. Come on, I'll show you.

Vince eagerly took my smaller hand into his and led me out the kitchen exit to the back of the building. Sure enough, there was a smaller building back there with the boss's name printed in the window. Not that I cared to learn it.

Just as we were approaching the door, an older man with graying hair exited the building with a tired look in his eye. Once he spotted the two of us, he perked up a bit.

B- Oh good! You found your way. I didn't realize till a few moments ago that I didn't inform you of my office's location. For that, I am very sorry Miss.

Y/n- That's alright. Vince showed me where it was.

B- So I see...

The man gave Vince an odd, untrusting look. Like he didn't believe that vince was normally this kind. He nicely asked Vince to return to his shift and invited me inside his office. Once we were alone and had sat down, he addressed me.

B- so um, Vince wasn't too... weird was he? He normally does not interact with people much outside of the other guards and the Foreman...

Y/n- Actually sir, Vince and I are childhood friends. Scott as well.

B- Oh? Really? Very interesting... Anyways you're here for the job...

We talked for a while and he glanced at my resume, deeming me qualified. When it was time to sign my contract I noticed that he got antsier and antsier as I was reading the fine print.

The part about the company not being responsible if I died was concerning, but I made the conscious choice to ignore that part. As soon as my name was on the paper I could feel the relief radiating from the older man.

He shook my hand, gave me a badge, key, and a small handbook then let me go about my day. Since I was already here, I decided to just go inside for some Pizza before heading to the store to stock up my kitchen with goodies.

I went in from the front and this time sat down in an open booth after placing my order for a slice of cheese pizza and a soda. Once that arrived I chilled in my seat for a while, scanning the people in the pizzeria. Eventually I caught sight of yet another familiar face, and they saw me too.
