I let the water envelope me, washing away all of the stress that'd been like a huge weight on my shoulders. The small bathroom attached to my room had been my only escape since the moment I woke up in the little prison, where no guard was able to watch me 24/7.
Not soon enough did I realize that there was no more conditioner, and I let out a huge groan. Turning off the water, I grabbed the grey robe off the rack and wrapped myself in it, then quickly pulled my clump of wet hair into a messy bun - and I didn't have to try very hard to get it messy.
I left the bathroom and walked out into the chilly hellhole of a prison - rolling my eyes at the lame oxymoron I had just created in my head.
Obviously I wasn't allowed to leave the room, and even if I wanted to at the moment I would never be able to. Walking over to the two-way mirror, I stared into the black abyss that seemed impossible to be able to be seen through on the other side.
"Hello? Uh...." I tapped on the black glass, and waited for someone to tap back, confirming that they heard me. Nothing.
"Um, I kinda need some conditioner? Yeah, I ran out. It'd be real cool if someone came by and quick dropped a bottle off? Thanks." I waited for a tap, but there was still no answer.
"UGHHH, god, I know someone is there! Jeez, all I need is some damn condi-"
The titanium door creaked open, and I shifted back on my right foot and crossed my arms.
"Well, thank you very much, I truely am grateful, but next time you don't have to be so...." The door came to a thudding stop, but there was no one in the doorway.
"Uh, hello?" I walked over and examined the scene. Beyond the doorway there was a long, dark hallway that I couldn't see the end to. Was this my chance to escape?
Walking down the dark corridor, I constantly stopped and called out for someone. This had to be a joke, right? I mean, the guards wouldn't be this stupid to just crack the door wide open and let me leave...
My feet padded on on the cold ground as I trudged on. My thoughts were drowned in questions, but honestly, my biggest worry at the moment was that Mackenzie would pop out from one of the dark corners and murder me. I shuddered at the thought.
"God!" The hallway came to an abrupt stop, but it was still so dark that I ran right smack into the wall. I felt something trickle from my nose, and I muttered a thousand different curses when I realized it was blood.
"Well this is fantastic." I said, wiping the gushing red fountain that was running down my face.
"Yes. It is." A deep voice, sounding almost animalistic, growled from the dark abyss. A scream barely escaped my mouth as two large, rough hands grabbed me from behind. I struggled from their grasp, but I knew I wasn't getting anywhere. One of the arms, which was hairy as hell, wrapped around my neck, and without thinking I bit down hard on my attacker.
His grip loosened, and a low mumble of pain filled the tense silence. It wasn't enough to let me escape, but it might be just enough so that I could make a run back towards the room. I started off, and behind me I could hear the ruffians yell at one another. Almost at the door, I looked back, but all I could see were three large figures stumbling after me.
I obviously couldn't operate the door, but even if I could I wouldn't have enough time. I felt one hand swipe at me, and to my horror I realized that my robe was being pulled off. I held onto the fuzzy, grey edge and pulled towards the room. A dim lighting made everything a whole lot creepier, and I turned around to see the face of the man who was trying to strip me naked.
His eyes were, well, they weren't there. Two large black gaping pits were where eyes should have been, and the entire face was covered in brown, rough-looking patches of thick fur.
