I️ Looked Down Feeling Carter Hand Caressing My Back. Everything That The OBGYN Was Saying Began To Drown Out Leaving Me With My Own Thoughts. Why Couldn't I️ Carry My Husbands Child ? The One Thing I️ Should Be Able To Give Him I️ Can't.

"Baby We Should Go" I️ Heard Carter Say As My Vision Began To Get Blurry. I️ Looked Up To See That The Doctor Was Gone.

"Baby" I️ Heard Carter Say. I️ Looked Into His Eyes Seeing The Sadness In His Eyes. I️ Immediately Broke Down In Tears. I️ Felt Carter's Arms Around My Body Kissing My Head.

Things Began To Slow Down And I Finally Decided For Carter And I️ To Try For Another Child. This Was Almost Our Fifth Time And I️ Was Getting Frustrated. So We Came To The Doctor To See What The Problem Was Only To Find Out I️ Can't Conceive A Child. I️ Was The Broken One That Couldn't Give My Husband Something He Desperately Wanted.

"Baby" I️ Heard Carter's Voice Snapping Me Out Of My Thoughts. I️ Whipped My Tears That Began To Dry.

"Let's Go Home" He Said Softly. When We Got Home I️ Placed My Purse On The Counter Staring At The Living Room.

"I️ Think You Should Take A Nap And I'll Whip Something Up" Carter Said.

"Are You Mad At Me? Disappointed In Me?" I️ Asked Keeping My Eyes On The Living Room.

"What? Beyoncé Heavens No. Don't Start Blaming Yourself For Something That Wasn't Your Fault" He Said

I️ Looked At Him Feeling My Lips Began To Quiver As I️ Tried To Get My Words Out. Carter Immediately Came To My Rescue Embracing Me In A Hug. "It's Okay Babe , The Doctor Said We Can Try Again In A Few Months Sometimes This Happens We Just Need To Give It A Rest" He Said

"She Said I️ Can't Conceive A Child Shawn"

"I️Know Babe And She Said Things Like This Happens. Sometimes Women Can't Conceive A Child Right Away. It's In Gods Plan" He Said

I️ Released From His Embrace " I️ Know You Said Your Not Mad Or Disappointed But In The Back Of Your Head Your Feeling That Way And It's Okay" I️ Said Slowly Looking Into His Eyes.

"Baby You Gave Me A Child That I'm So Grateful And Happy To Have. If It's In Gods Plan For Us To Have One Child Then So Be It But We Have A Child That We Created Some People Can't Even Have One" He Said , I️ Smiled Weakly. He Had A Point There.

"I'm Sorry For...-"

"No No , Don't Apologize. Let Me Cook Something Up And You Can Relax On The Couch Or Something Aight?" He Said

I️ Bit My Lip "Okay" , I️ Walked Over To The Couch In The Living Room Turning On The TV. It Was On Disney Channel Telling Me That Blue Was The Last One To Watch TV Out Here. I️ Missed My Whittle Baby , She Was Sleeping Over My Moms House For The Weekend. I️ Went To The Recording List Watching Real Housewives Of Atlanta , I️ Missed The Last Few Episodes.

In The Middle Of Me Watching TV Carter Was Done With Dinner. I️ Met Him In The Dinning Room , He Pulled Out My Chair "Hmmm Shrimp And Noddles ?" I️ Asked Looking Down At The Plate. I️ Heard Him Chuckle Lightly "Yes With Some Sauce" He Said Getting In His Chair.

"Thank You...For This Dinner. I️ Appreciate It" I️ Smiled Weakly.

"Your Welcome" He Said Before Digging Into His Food.

"What If...We Adopt?" I️ Asked

Carter Began To Choke On His Food , He Immediately Took A Sip Of His Drink. "Adopt?" He Asked, I️ Nervously Nodded.

"What If The Childs Parents Are Crazy? Or They Want Their Child Back? What If-"

"Baby, I️ Think We Should Give A Child An Opportunity At A Good Life. With Loving Parents And Big Sister" I️ Said

"You Also Have To Think Of The Cons Bey"

Carter Looked Down "We Should Think About This...Like Really Think About This. We Would Have To Talk To Blue And Explain To Her What's Going On. Your Mom Would Have To Know Along With Your Sister. Zora Would Have To Know As Well"

"I️ Know. I️ Think We Should Do It. Fuck Anything That Might Come Our Way. I️ Want To Adopt A Child, We Have A Good Home , We're Loving , Responsible, We're Stable Middle Class Citizens. If God Can't Let This Happen...Then I️ Don't Know" I️ Said As My Eyes Began To Water.

"Okay Let's Just Give The Child Subject A Rest For Awhile Before Trying To Go Straight Into Adopting And Stuff Okay?"

I Walked Into Class And Seen Veronica Sitting Down With A Smirk On Her Face. "Can I Help You?" I Asked. My Class With Her Was On Monday's In The Middle Of The Day.

"Mr.Carter...Why Aren't You Taking My Emails And Messages?" She Asked Getting Up From The Chair.

I Placed My Brief Case Down On The Desk "Because Your Not Talking About Any School Work. That's My Number And E-Mail Is On The Syllabus For My Students That Need Help With Homework....Classroom , Projects" I Explained.

She Licked Her Lips "Mr.Carter You Know How I Feel About You...I'm A Attractive Woman-"

"You Know I'm A Married Man , I'm Your Teacher And This Would Never Happen Okay? So If You Could Please Leave My Classroom" I Said Pointing To The Door.
