Anyone who's ever had to move anywhere knows that it's hard to start a fresh and leave people you love. Unless you're under the age of 10 of course, then its easy to make friends wherever you go, but me being a 14 year old girl found it especially hard leaving somewhere you're loved and always wanted, to go somewhere completely different, like waking up one morning and knowing that everything you've ever known has changed and you have to try your best to build this new life in a place that is literally upside down to you.

I can make a bet that you don't know half the people you were friends with in high school or secondary school. Even if you promised your best friends who you would have trusted your life with at the time that you would never forget them and even if you meant it. Deep inside you knew you it wouldn't be that way until your dying day. Now I don't mean for that to sound depressing, but that's just life.

"Cut, okay that's a wrap people you are free to go now enjoy your weekend"
I am the screenwriter for the popular show 'The Way It Is' and I can tell you none of the people I went to high school with know that its me but that might be because I didn't know that many people in high school. I moved to Canada from England 10 years ago today, and funnily enough I am going back for my cousins wedding.

Flashback to two little girls playing dress up in white dresses and pillowcases for veils.
"One day I'm going to marry the prince from Cinderella"
"And I'm going to marry the one from sleeping beauty" they turned to each other and giggled.

The one thing I am most looking forward to is seeing my friends again I haven't seen them in 10 whole years it scares me to think where they might be now but at the same time I cant wait to find out.

I walked into the deserted coffee shop and spotted her in the back. She had her back to me but I knew it was her I leaned forward and tapped her on the shoulder "Kate?"
"Oh my god Isla! I haven't seen you in so long," she said immediately getting up to hug me. I then sat at the table, across from where she was sitting and watched her pick up the toddler who was quietly sitting in the stroller next to her and placed him on her lap.
"And who is this cute little thing" I said leaning across to tickle his belly and he gave a cute little giggle.
"This is Adam," she said waving his hand. "Me and James well... we're engaged," she said smiling with excitement in her voice.
"Oh my god, I'm so happy for you guys. When did you get together?"
"Just after we graduated," she said showing me the ring.
"And what happened to the hair I don't think I've ever actually seen it its natural colour before," I said.
"Oh yeah I stopped dying it after Adam was born I figured if its going to be grey soon might as well make the most of it"
"Yeah I guess, so how's everyone else?"
"You mean how's Myles?"
"No, I mean everyone including Myles"
"Oh come on Isla I know what your like you guys loved each other so much you cant pretend you're not at least interested?"
"I asked about everyone not just Myles"
"Fine, as you know me and James are engaged and have Adam. Ollie is constantly touring with his band he has a girlfriend who is also in the band, never met her, he is currently sharing an apartment with Mason, Now Mason is working for his dad's company not really sure what he does exactly but oh well. Tymira's in London working as a psychologist helping ex war veterans with PTSD"
"Wow"
"I know"
" Now Myles lives by himself he works, as an engineer for the same company as James he has a girlfriend met her once seems nice. Blake is always round though he has a lot of arguments with his wife, Ellie, okay I think that is everyone"
"Ellie?!"
"Yep"
"As in Ellie Thompson?!"

Flashback
"I can't believe you! How can u do this to me?!"
"I'm sorry it was a mistake she means nothing to me anymore I swear"
"But what about Ellie.... Sigh I don't know if I can forgive you for this"
"But you will anyway" he said softly holding her chin up to kiss her.

"That's the one although she's Ellie Barrett now"
"Oh my god no way?!!"
"Yep"
"And what about Lillian?"
"Now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time, she actually went on holiday to Toronto a few years back met some hockey player they got married and moved out there"
"Really no way I'm living in Toronto because that's where my show is being filmed, I had no idea"
"Neither did we until two months later but then I guess nothing waits when you're in love, so how's you anyway, you started that TV show?" She said taking a sip from her coffee.
"Yeah that hit off pretty well hoping for it to be aired over here soon"
"Oh good can't wait! So are you seeing anyone at the minute?"
"No I'm single, does anyone else know I'm town"
"No just me and James"
"Okay"
"You want to go see Myles don't you?"
"Well of course I want to say hi, he was my friend before he was my boyfriend ya know"
"Yeah I know, what are you doing the rest of the day?"
"I have a dress fitting for Jenna's wedding but that's it"
"Oh of course congratulate her for me"
"Will do, ah that reminds me its getting on I better run or I'll be late then the bride definitely wont be impressed"
"Okay, it was nice catching up with you and if your not too busy you must come by the bar for a drink this evening?"
"Sounds great bye" I said giving her a hug and a friendly exchange of a kiss on the cheek. "Bye Adam"
