Not every moment aligns perfectly all the time. Sometimes when those moments are constantly far from perfect that's what we call a bad day, but then it starts to happen more frequently and that's what we call a bad week, then any more and it's a bad month then if you're really unlucky you might have a bad year. Then you start to think about how you got here and what you did to set yourself slightly off track, something as little as just getting out of bed two minutes later than usual.
Because you can already see that you're only inches away from what 'could' have happened, and yes what could have happened could have been a perfect moment but that doesn't mean that moment won't happen it'll just be different, not worse, not better just different.
Sometimes being stuck in the 'could have's' can keep us from what's inevitable, so just keep that in mind.
"Are you sure you're ready to go home?" Isla said helping Aaron into the car.
"Isla I'm defiantly ready to go home, I don't want to see another orange jelly cup as long as I live", he said chuckling.
"Isla, can I say something?" He said looking at her as she drove.
"Of course"
"I'm really happy you're here"
"Aaron I wasn't just going to leave you at the hospital", she laughed.
"No not that, I just think that we really connected last night it was the first time in a while we really stopped and talked to each other. I know you've been busy with the show finale and everything but this was a good thing", he said putting his hand on her leg.
"You getting into a car accident was a good thing?"
"Well no but what it led to was a good thing", he said.
"So we're good?" she said slowing the car at the traffic lights to stop.
"We're definitely good", he smiled leaning over to kiss her.
Then the car behind started to beep its horn because the lights had turned green.
"Whoops", she giggled looking at the impatient driver in the rearview mirror.
As Isla pulled the car up outside Aarons house, she was just about to release her seatbelt when Aaron said, "I need to warn you about something".
Isla looked confused, "okay?"
"When I was admitted to hospital I asked them to call my sister about the accident"
"Okay"
"So she took the first flight out last night to come see me"
Isla's face looked concerned, "So you mean..." She pointed to the front door, "she's inside?"
"Yes"
"Okay", she said taking a deep breath.
"She brought along her husband too so I'm sure she'll behave".
Isla got out the car and walked around to help Aaron, she passed him his crutches and helped him to his feet, when all of a sudden a reporter came running over and then just like dominoes when one goes there is always more to follow. Like a swarm of bees in seconds they were surrounded.
"Aaron is it true you were drunk driving?" one said.
"Aaron did you and Isla break up?"
"Does this mean you will be attending the premier alone?" another interrogated.
"Uhh-", Aaron was startled.
"Brother!!" Lillian burst out the front door coming to greet him taking his arm from Isla and helping him inside.
"No he was not drunk driving my brother is a very sensible driver the accident was merely just that an accident, and no he will not be attending the premier alone he has a very gorgeous sister standing right here to keep him company, the name is Lillian Turner by the way", she took him inside and Isla just followed rolling her eyes.
"You're welcome by the way", Lillian said to Aaron.
"For what?"
"For tipping off the press you need to stay in the news you know this show is over for you, you need to get you're name out there to get another audition".
"I appreciate that Lillian but I don't think the second I get out of hospital is the right time to do that", he said pushing open the door with his crutch opening to find two men sat on his couch.
"Who's this?"
"Aaron I want you to meet Michael Bishop, my husband", she said taking his arm smiling".
"Nice to meet you", Michael said shaking Aaron's hand.
"And this is..." Lillian began to introduce.
"NO!", Isla stood in the doorway shocked and sick to her stomach.
"Oh I forgot you two know each other", Lillian smiled a heinous smile.
"Look before you say anything-", the guy stepped forward speaking in a thick Canadian accent and raising his hands surrendering.
"No, No, No" Isla retreated tearing up and panicking.
Daniel opened his mouth trying to speak.
"NO!" She stormed out in tears.
Aaron stood there confused and shocked, "What the heck just happened".
"Oh sorry I must have skipped an introduction", Lillian said smugly "This is Isla's husband".
"What the heck Lillian! Stop interfering with other peoples lives there was clearly a line in this situation and you bloody bulldozed through it like you always bloody do, I don't want to see your face get out!" Aaron yelled.
Lillian was shocked by the way he reacted, she just stood there expressionless her eyes filled with tears.
"I SAID GET OUT!"
So she left with Michael and Daniel following behind.
Isla sat in her car bawling, after everything she had done to get him out of her head, all the memories and all the pain. She began to hit the steering wheel angrily, flashbacks replayed in her head of all the abuse she had once taken from him in his drunken days and she just sat there puffy eyed and tired.
She went to Kate's to see how Myles was getting on with the baby.
Myles opened the door to find Isla barely standing. She had a glazed look on her face and mascara stains down her cheeks.
"Isla, what the heck happened?"
She burst out in tears and Myles hugged her tightly hoping to fix the pain that was seeping through her skin.
She fell to her knees and Myles continued to hold on tight.
After he had calmed her down he started to get her to explain what happened.
"He's here," she said staring into space.
"What? Who's here?"
She stuttered like the very mention of his name was traumatizing, "Da-Daniel".
His eyes followed the shape of her mouth as she spoke his name and was at a loss for words. Myles knew who this guy was and what he did to Isla and his very name fills his heart with fury but what he didn't know was what to ask first. How? Why? When? Finally he muttered under his breath, "Where is he?"
"I have no idea and I don't think I want to know"
"He doesn't deserve to be alive after how he treated you let alone showing up to where you live!" He stood up angrily heading for the door.
"Myles don't! I'll find out why he's here why he hasn't signed the divorce papers and then he's gone okay!" She stood in front of him pushing on his chest in attempt to stop him.
"Fine, but let me be there you don't know what he'll do", he looked down to her hand on his chest and Isla could see that Daniel's appearance caused him pain like it did her.
"How do I explain this to Aaron?" she slumped back down on the sofa. "He's definitely going to be pissed about me lying to him yet again, I'll be lucky if he'll even gives me a chance to explain".
"Just take it one step at a time I'm sure he'll understand and yeah he'll be pissed at first, only because he doesn't know the whole story. It'll be okay I promise, he loves you".
She looked up at him and smiled.
"Now go make up, so you guys can attend the premier with no distractions tonight". He hugged her goodbye and watched her walk out the door.
"Knock, Knock", Isla said entering Aarons room.
"What are you doing here," he said rolling his eyes.
"I need to explain"
"Forget it I'm tired of this, I'm tired of you keeping things from me"
"I know you're mad but please just give me a chance to explain"
"I've given you chances, what more do you want from me"
"There's a reason I didn't tell you"
"What reason is there to not tell me you're married?!" He shouted.
"It's complicated, I was stuck in a horrible abusive marriage all the pain I had tried so hard to get rid of, I just didn't want it back in my head again. I know that's selfish and I know I should have told you but I didn't know how. I swear I did want to tell you, I was going to tell you", she sat on the edge of the bed beside Aaron.
"I could have helped you", he put his hand on her shoulder.
"I know"
"He left these", Aaron handed her a stack of papers.
"He signed the divorce papers?"
"I don't know what went on but I don't think he's coming back this time", he kissed her on the forehead and got up to get a glass of water, hopping, having left his crutches behind.
Later that afternoon Kate and James returned from the wedding up in Manchester.
"Isla we're home", Kate called out coming through the door.
Myles walked out of the kitchen, "hey guys how was your trip?"
"Myles? Where's Isla?"
"Heh- that's a long story, you better sit down I'll put some tea on", he said scratching the back of his head.
After Myles had explained the whole thing and Kate and James where sat there in awe to the outrageous story they were just told, literally imagine jaws dropped to the floor.
"And all that happened in two days?!" James said.
"James! Is she okay?" She said hitting James on the arm.
"I don't know, she left here to go explain to Aaron a few hours ago"
"And you were with her all the time she was fighting with Aaron?"
"Yes"
"And he doesn't know that?"
"What are you getting at Kate?" Myles said.
"Nothing", she repeated in a baby voice bouncing Adam on her lap.
"Anyways I better be off to go get ready for the premier, I'll see you guys there?"
"Absolutely", Kate said.
