NOTE: Character Playlists

So I just realized my playlists might be a little...disorganized. Also I change them around a lot. So I thought I'd take a quick second to explain my process behind them?

Basically, the character playlists feature songs that make me think of that OC. Maybe it's a song I think they'd like, maybe it fits their aesthetic, maybe it fits their story.

Also, lyrics. Lyrics are really important to me 99% of the time. Lyrics are the closest I can get to giving you an insight on this character and their story. So I put the best fitting lyrics below the song. If some lyrics don't seem to make sense or be profound, that lets you know that the song was too aesthetically fitting to the character as a whole to cut it out.

Occasionally I try to keep myself to a theme. Like Jenny's childhood playlist, I wanted it to mirror the official character playlists for the movie. Which meant, 2 things:
1) What music would Jenny have listened to when she was 13? And,
2) No song on that first playlist could have been put out past 1989.

Well I could get super off track and write a whole essay on that first point, because Jenny liked a lot of hip-hop and rap, but I ran into bunch of problems which ended in them being cut from the playlist. (Just know that while it might not be on her playlist anymore, Jenny definitely listens to N.W.A. & Salt 'N Pepa, to name a few.)

Anyway, the problem I run into a lot is that while a song may not fit a theme, it might still remind me of the character. So I don't try to box myself in with themes too often.

No to mention, the playlists are limited to songs I've heard. And getting myself to listen to completely new music is a whole ordeal that just isn't worth it. Which means a lot of the songs are well known.

I kind of lost track of what this note was supposed to be about. Oh!

Hope this makes sense, and wasn't just a bunch of rambling. I don't know how to end these. Bye!

TL;DR: the only real consistency to these playlists are that I relate these songs to the OC, or that they remind me of said character. I try to use lyrics to tell more of the OC's story, but it doesn't always work like that.
