"My fiancé is impossible!" I groaned as I smacked myself with my notebook.

Finding a good gift idea for Chrom is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I can't think of anything! It's really stressing me out, too. I'm his best friend and fiancée; I'm supposed to know him better than anyone else.

"Stumped on gift ideas for Chrom?" Lissa asked as she strolled into my room.

I didn't even care about her sudden intrusion. "Yup..."

Lissa sat down on my bad and patted my shoulder. "He's a tough one to crack, that's for sure," she sighed. "Maybe you can bake him something?"

I shook my head. "No, I want it to be special! Something that he can use!" I said.

"Maybe you can get him something that he always gets for you?"

"I don't think Chrom's a very big fan of jewelry or knick-knacks." I gestured to the many trinkets that decorated my room. "I'm really at a loss, Lissa."

"Hmm..." Lissa brought her hand to her chin. "Well, maybe you could head to the Shopping District and see if you get any ideas?"

I rolled off the bed with a groan and stood up. "That's a good idea." I searched around for my coat.

"Have fun!" Lissa waved as she left my room.

I tied my cloak around me and sighed. "I'll definitely need it..."

I perused each stall and store carefully in hopes to get even a remote gift idea for Chrom. I shivered as snowflakes fell on my head. I pulled up my blue hood, the soft furs tickling my face. Gift ideas for Chrom...where do I even start?

Of the many places in Ylisstol, the Shopping District is by far my favorite. It's full of shops, cafés, local vendors, and so much more! And it's always so lively here. Sometimes, I like to come here just to people-watch.

There's such a nice charm to it during the holidays, though. With the snow-covered buildings, Nagamas decorations, and the scent of gingerbread and peppermint followed you everywhere you went.

I tried to keep my mouth from watering as I walked past the most popular and expensive bakery in the entire city. However, I failed when I caught a glimpse of the desserts displayed in the window. There were rolled spice cakes that were decorated to look like logs by a fire, chocolate cookies cut into heart shapes and sprinkled in peppermint, decadent chocolate bundt cakes with a white icing dripping off the sides, mini-pies with tiny decorations on top...

I shook my head quickly and forced myself to look forward. No, Anna. It's not dessert time. Not now, anyway... I've always wanted to try everything from that bakery, but like I said: it is the most expensive bakery in the city. Now, that's normally not a problem, but I feel like I have better things to spend my money on. Besides, I'd have to ask Chrom for the money; and I know that he will want to turn it into a date and he already has enough on his shoulders. I don't want him worrying about a stupid bakery date.

I continued to press forward. Maybe I should check and see what the blacksmith has...

I was grateful for my choice. The smithy was warm and toasty from the large forge kept in the back, and that was quite popular with the customers.

I browsed the many selections of swords, but none of them peaked my interest. Chrom already has so many swords...and the most legendary blade of all time... He doesn't need another one. With a sigh, I left the smithy.

As the day went on, I was still unsuccessful in finding him a gift. I felt absolutely terrible. I can't not give him a gift! I don't know what to do!

As a last resort, I headed into a clothing store. I looked at different garments, each one more boring than the last. It's no use... I'll never find him a gift... But just as I was about to leave the store, something caught my eye: a plain white cape.

I ran the material through my fingertips. It was silky but perfect for battle. "Heh, this kinda looks like Chrom's cape, but not ripped and dirty-" My heart jumped. "It's perfect!" I grabbed the cape and went to check it out. I can't believe I didn't think of this before!

Who would think that I would find the perfect gift for my fiancé in a clothing store?
