"I almost left you for him," I finally spoke up.
She glanced down, "I know. And I stayed with you when I knew you loved someone else... I don't know why I would do that."
"Hate me," I begged her, "Don't ever think that you want my friendship. I'm only telling you about him to clear my guilty conscience. I'm not worthy of the effort you've put in or the friendship you still want."
"I can't hate you," she sighed,"I've tried... It got me no where. I feel lonelier without you, I've actually been miserable without you."
"Okay," I relented, "But please know that I am sorry and I truly think you're a better person than I am."
