The life of a teen in love is hard. They have those awkward moments when they hate and love rather at the same time.

It's hard to grasp a hold of the real problems in life when your revolves around that one person you love, but how would I know. The only boy I've ever talked to is my neighbor Luke Breen. He was an amazing person, but obviously not into me. He was the type that when you were alone he would be really nice and focused on you but the second another girl walked in ,it was like you didn't exist. I also hoped he would come around to see he belonged with me. It was impossible though. With all the girls knocking at his door he didn't get a chance to remember me.

Desiree had told me all about love, it sounds fantastic. The chance to talk to someone at any hour. If only Luke would call me like he used to late at night when his dates were horrid. I was ecstatic when his dates were bad, it ment or wedding would bee closer every call.

"Erica, are you listening?" Brian asked. I snapped out of my daydream about Luke . Those happened often.

"yeah of course, are you sure you want to go through with this? I mean it's a big deal! Mom won't be happy Ya' know."

"yeah yeah. Who cares what mom thinks this is going to be the greatest chose of my life!"

After that reply I imagined my life in the suburbs, sitting on a deck with Luke drinking coffee at the break of dawn.  It was magical.

I tried to focus on Brian's thoughts but just couldn't get Luke off my mind, so I called him. It went to voicemail right away. He never charged his phone.

"Who's that on the phone?" Brian was noisy.

"Nobody just Luke, I was going to ask if he could see if I left the hose on at home." I snapped.

"you still like that jerk that crushed your dreams?" Brian snickered. What a butt. I knew I was blushing but I could help it. Luke had been my crush since I can remember. His sister got married in Vegas to some psycho gambler.

The moment I'd been waiting for came moments later. Luke texted me.

hey sorry I missed your call, what do you need

I was panicking.

just checking in, haven't heard from you in a while

Is what I should have said...
