Warning: Death and tears ahead. Continue reading if you wanna be depressed and for anyone that doesn't want to read this I'll make a new part in a bit that's less sad
"Oh my god! Oh my god! Doc!!" Maxx cried panic in his voice. "Don't go Cody, please," He grabbed my hand and squeezed it tightly. He took the hand and put it on his cheek. "Maxx?" I croaked. He looked up at me, crying. "Promise me... you'll find someone else to love, promise me you'll never forget me, promise me you can let go," He swallowed hard and nodded. "I love you Cody, I'm gonna miss you, a lot," "I love you too Maxx... Danziger, smile for me," He nodded with a small smile before I was over whelmed with darkness."DOC!!!" I screamed squeezing Cody's dead body. "He gone I can't believe he's gone," "We came as quick as we could–" Dan and Zach charged in with a doctor behind them. Dan and Zach gasped as they realized what happened. "He's gone," I lightly held Cody's head and roughly kissed him, not caring if it was his corpse, he died like five seconds ago, so there's not gonna be too many hazards I don't think. I don't wanna leave his lips six feet under the ground. I want his lips on mine forever. Dan and Zach hugged me tightly as the doctors and people put Cody in a body bag. "I still can't understand why he got such a depressing fate," "Neither can we Maxx, but you'll meet him again, eventually," I miss his smile, his rosy cheeks, his adorable nose, I miss his lips, I miss his positive little soul, I just miss him. "Now Maxx, let's go home and cool off," I nodded as we all left the hospital and I kept my eyes away from anything that could remind me of Cody.
When we arrived home Mateo was excited to see Cody but realized that Cody's not coming back. He howled depressingly. I picked him up and held him close to me. "I know, we're all really sad about this, but we gotta stay strong for Cody, okay?" Mateo barked and went back to his depressed howls. I cradled him before he jumped out of my arms and mopped with his tail in between his legs and his head down. "He might need a minute," I nodded at Dan's comment and went to my room. Checking on Mateo quickly. Cody was lying on his bed as Mateo was on his stomach. Wait! Cody? I double checked again and it was just Mateo lying on the bed, licking his paw. I softly smiled and continued my journey to my room.Cody's funeral was hard on everyone. It was a really sad fate. No one can understand why it happened, he was a great man but lived such a short life. Every night he would haunt Maxx's dreams and the boys decided to lock up his room and not sell anything. It was all too special to throw away. Maxx never forgot his promise to his first love and actually got married to another man four years later and Mateo eventually got better. And Cody, he was happy with his father in a beautiful, fearless, and cheerful place known as heaven, forever watching over his old(?) lover, excited and fearful of when he passes, what they'll do, but Why Worry about that now? It's not like it will come Tomorrow.
Hey! Merry Christmas! Do you like your present from me? I don't think you do. Anyways, I hope this didn't make you too sad and sorry for another really short chapter and book, they'll be longer in the future I promise, and now merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!..... or day. 🎄☃️🎅🏻
