Apologizing wasn't a thing Devil did. No matter the situation at hand, he never apologized. Saying sorry meant you didn't mean it. In his eyes, if it wasn't meant then it wouldn't have been done.
Pulling into the familiar drive way of his ex's mother. His eyes scanned everything, landing on the rose bush that held so many stories. Shock ran through him realizing Tay's mother never let the bush die. The rose bush was an apology to Tay. Devil sat in the car trying to figure out, if this was the closure he needed in order to move on with Christina. Picking his phone up, he dialed out-only to be greeted with Chris's voicemail. Cursing under his breathe, he was agitated. He needed something to calm his nerves. Searching through the glove compartment for his stash, his phone rung. Looking at his phone, he sighed.

"You ringed grumpy?" Chris asked, her soft voice music to his ears.

"Chris, a nigga can't do this"

"Do what?" Chris questioned.

"Face Tay's family"

Chris sighed, and bit her lip. Devil wanted her to go with him, but she felt it'd be disrespectful to Tayler's family.

"Take a deep breath and relax. Don't overthink it babe. Say your piece, and leave it be."

"Aight, thanks baby girl"

"Ya welcome sour patch"

With that, the phone disconnected. Devil opened the door, and walked towards the front door. After two knocks, the door opened. Devil was face to face with Tay's mom, sister, and dad. He couldn't read the expressions on their faces.

Tay's mom broke down as she opened the door wider. Seeing the man who drove her baby crazy still hurt. They did get one good thing out the deal. Devil stepped inside, and Tay's mom walked off.

"Why you here nigga?" Shayla spat.

Devil only nodded, telling himself to calm down.

"Trying to make amends for all my wrong doings. Starting with you all first"

Shay and her dad stared at Devil. To them, he was a monster. A scum bag that Tay loved unconditionally for unknown reasons. She clung to him as if he was dope, and she was the fiend.

"Speak boy"

Dev shot him a menacing glare, causing Tay's dad to do the same.

"I've come to the conclusion that I loved Tayler. However, I felt that her love was enough for the both of us. I didn't know how to reciprocate what she wanted. It seemed like hitting her was the only way to show I loved her. There were plenty of times I left Tayler alone. She always came back. Not once, did I beg her to take me back."

"Liar, there was that one night! You left your handprint on her face and showed up on my doorstep" Shayla retorted, growing angrier at Devil's presence.
