Jennifer
"Basically, you feeling a dude that's psychotic, a killer, and a woman beater all wrapped in one. I don't understand." I spoke, shaking my head.I looked at her like she had two heads. She acts like she isn't talking to his brother. The fuck?
"So where'd the judgments come from. His brother was stalking you- so I don't get it Jenn." She replied.
I rolled my eyes, and let out a breath.
"And he choked you Chris. They all say they won't do it again. Then they do. Then you are left for dead until your friends decide to come looking for you." I stressed, becoming agitated with her.
Chris sounded just like me. Making excuses and they weren't even officially in a relationship yet.
"Jenn, if I feel like I'm in danger- I promise I will leave him. But I have faith, and plus I hit him first. He was restraining himself well until I slapped him." She answered, sounding like she regretted hitting him.
The fact Chris was actually defending him was shocking. I could tell she must really like him. She's never tried to defend a person, let alone their actions. Which was surprising.
"I apologize if I came off all mother hen like, but I don't want you in an abusive relationship that you can't get out of. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt since you seem to trust him." I replied, trying to ease some of the tension I caused.
"Other than him choking you, do you think he may be the one?"
She let out a small sigh.
"To be honest, I'm not sure if he's the one, but I like the vibe we share. When we aren't fussing over something small, we actually have some thought provoking discussions. And even though he's rude- I can tell he's trying hard as hell." She replied, and I could hear the smile in her voice.
"Ah Chris, my lil boo crushing, or in deep like." I sang, rolling my hips.
She laughed and shook her head. Today was our catch up day. The other girls couldn't leave, so it was the two of us.
"I wouldn't call it a crush anymore, a deep like is a befitting phrase for how I feel. Yeah, I deeply like him."
She smiled and looked down at her phone. I was about to ask a question and my cell went off.
I smiled because it was my big baby. I held my finger up, and answered on the third ring.
