Adam
"Dude, you will never guess what happened at lunch today," I lean over to Mike.
"Uh, you and the princess had lunch and hooked up and now you're going to get married and live in that old castle in three cities, and have a boat load of kiddies and grow old together like that lame married couple in all those old sitcoms." He says; I roll my eyes.
"No." I scoff, he raises one eyebrow and gives me his "really?" look, "Ugh, okay, we kissed for like, not even two seconds, perv."
"So, you have a girlfriend," he laughs, and I smile a little.
"I guess," I say quietly.
"Mister Moore, Mister Abernathy, do you have something to share with the rest of us?" The teacher interrupts our conversation.
"Yes ma'am," Mike says, standing up.
"Sit down Mike," I whisper.
"No, Adam. I have to let everyone know."
"Mister Abernathy, you would be wise to listen to Mister Moore, or risk having your father called, again."
"Yes, ma'am, in just a moment. I would just like to say--"
"Mister Abernathy! Sit down!"
"Fine!" he says, "but he is dating the princess!" he finally sits down, receiving a well-deserved look of disappointment.
"As I was saying," the teacher starts to give her lesson again and I start doodling around my notes.

I get off the train and walk down the side street to get home. Once I get to the castle I immediately go to my room, to try and avoid questioning from Melanie and Liam. My attempts fail.
"Adam!" I hear my name called and two pairs of footsteps coming up behind me. I slow down and my brother and his fiancé catch up.
"Yeah?" I ask, turning to face them.
"Has it happened yet?" Melanie asks.
"What?" I ask, feigning ignorance.
"You know what she's asking about. Adam. Just answer the damn question."
"Ugh," I turn to Melanie, "What do you see in him?"
"You're dodging the question." She says.
"Okay, okay! Yeah. We went to lunch and we kissed at the end."
"Yay!" Melanie squealed. God, that chick was way too invested in my love life, I think to myself.
"Okay, well, I have homework, sooo..." I jerk my thumb towards my rooms and start to take a couple steps slowly backwards.
"Go on. Get to your homework. We'll stop bothering you." My brother says, turning to walk away, "Just, one question, do you think you might be able to marry Rayne?" I give him a why would I be thinking about that look, "It's just an innocent question." He says, but the look on his face says otherwise.
"Sure it is," I say, planning to never answer his question.
"It really is," this time, it is Melanie, but her face has the same revealing look as his. I give them another "really?" Look, "Yes, really. Could you please answer the question?"
"Ugh, fine, but to be perfectly honest, we have only gone out once. I didn't even think about kissing her until it was about to happen, but yeah, I guess I would marry Rayne. Why?"
"Oh, no reason. It really was just an innocent question."
"Sure it was," I say, but I leave it at that. I didn't want to get into my love life with them any more than I already had, and I did actually have some homework to do. I turn walk into my room, not giving them a chance to ask any more questions.
