It was late now, near ten o'clock at night. As laurel laid in her new bed next to a complete stranger that was a kid. "...excuse...me..." He whispered, trying to get the kids attention, the kid opened his eyes, staring at her non-showed eyes. "Sorry, uh...what's your name?" She asked, still shy. He stayed silent and did sign language. 'I'm called AK.' "Oh...hi..AK..." She smiled. He just gave a blank stare. 'What's yours?' "Mine?" He nodded, she looked down on her bed before she looked at him again. "Laurel.." 'That's a nice name.' He smiled, she just smiled back.

"...sorry if this comes off rude but...are you..mute?" She asked, scared for his reaction, since she asked questions she'd be hit by her horrid parents. 'Sorta. I just don't like talking you could say...' He looked down. "Hm...." 'What about your eyes? Why don't you show them?' He raised a brow, curious as why she never did. "...They're aren't normal..." 'Come on, they're not that bad, right?' She sighed. "They...are the reason my parents abused me...." She mumbled. He nodded. 'Hm...maybe you should show them! I mean, they're not here!' "Yeah...I guess...just self conscious..." She coughed. 'Okay.'

"Well...I'll show them later...maybe when it isn't as dark.." 'Alright.' He nodded, smiling. "Well, god night...AK..." She turned over as AK just smiled at that and turned over. 'Night, laurel.' They both closed their eyes and slowly fell asleep.
