ᴡᴇʟᴄᴏᴍᴇ ᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ ᴄɪʀᴄᴜs! ||EddsWorld Au story||

So. Update

It's been basically two years since I wrote this

So uh I forgot about this au and book in general.
I remembered it recently and honestly?
It could've been better
Yes my writing was ok and the characters were thought out but
I kinda wasted shit?

Firstly, I barely showed Tom and Paul, pay and pat and such. Only time I did was when pay was forced to do a show by himself which, sure, could've been hinted but it wasn't a good arc. Paul's issues with the crowd was swept under the rug and I feel bad because he could've had an interesting arc

I also feel bad for the way I showed abuse and the 'freaks' plan to get the parents into prison. Police would not act like that in that situation and why would they use fake blood and such? The abuse I showed was awful bc parents don't actually (at least normally) show abuse out there to a ringmaster. They also don't abuse their kid while someone is looking.

I think laurel and AK + Hellucard were also wasted potential. They could've been intresting but instead they got illegally taken in by Edd and were only abused via being mute or their eyes. Meanwhile hellucard was almost kidnapped and never got to find his family. Sure we got a badass scene from tord and his lion but that could've been more. I think the dude who tried to kidnap him would've been that obvious in threatening the kid and trying to kill a dude who owned a circus. The kids should've had more development and should've had natural arcs, not forced filler arcs.

Edd was okay but I don't think I showed him in a good way in his mental struggle? To me now at least.
I wished I had maybe spent more time with him instead of saying how stressed he was all the time and making that awkward chapter with Matt giving CPR. I forced that just weirdly and I don't like that.

The freaks also weren't shown that much. Sure I made them interesting and such but they were also wasted potential. Their plan was weird and would be really wonky irl and I think their plan was a bit too... extreme? And after that they were ignored because, hah, that's all we needed them for. I could've done more intresting stuff like them trying to interact and breathe. Like ded and edd interacting more, more backstory on ded, more time with mark to accept himself, the conjoint dudes Alex and Yandov fighting and slowly having to get along, hell, even Yuu being shown some development by maybe being undermined or something! I did not show them in a good light making them do this extra plan.

The dudes didn't even really have any personality! I forgot that Matt was even a Tightrope Walker and Tom being an acrobat. Hell, I forgot that Jon was even in this book.

Also jon was barely mentioned. Unlike the others who were mentioned at least in a full chapter jon was mentioned once and was just a clown. I could've done something else like the struggle with the kids, the parents being scared of him, the outfit he had to wear which was baggy and could've been hot as hell. Hell, he even had special candies to keep him happy! I could've made that so much darker! But I didn't.

I wished I had spent more time with their training. Like Pat and Pay planning their show and Pay holding back his fear, Paul practicing more but hating it anyway because well, he has to risk his life for people's entertainment, Tom asking if his acrobatic skills are actually good enough for a show to keep interest!

Also Eduardo, the magician who could've been really cool was never even shown that much. Earlier chapters he's there, sure, and interacts with edd a little bit but then he's never shown again in later chapters. Like I've said, he could've been so much more interesting! Like the way he learnt to do tricks, maybe interacting with the kids or something to show his tricks! Maybe even interact with edd more or someone else more!

Also these guys barely had any backstory. How did Tom become an acrobat? Why did Matt go on tightropes? Why was ringo, a grey lion, grey and how did tord start training him? Why did jon become a clown? How is Eduardo able to use these powers that can't be explained away? Why was mark being beaten up in the street and how did edd even see this? How did edd find Yuu? How did he find Yandov and Alex? And how come ded was put in that section of the freaks. Sure he did he's fine with it but why would edd just put him in there? Was he forced to or something? Did he choose it?

Also why was edd so stressed and not able to say he needs a break? Why did he always work so hard? I could've made a good backstory with that.

The nightmare chapter was probably one of my favorite chapter by far
Even now as I'm older I still enjoy the chapter. I liked how Nightmare edd was shown, I liked Tord and how he asked edd if it was too much blood for him and how ringo was like. I liked how the audience was reacting unlike edd who was disgusted. But I wished I had done more

Maybe shown tom do acrobatics or something, maybe show Eduardo making someone explode via magic? Maybe even show pay acting normal and scared and pat betray him and have him die in the dream! Maybe have the kids show up? Maybe even show the freaks? Or hell, maybe have Paul throw knives at the people and them cheering? That'd be so cool!

Hell, I could've made some backstory for edd in that nightmare but it was cut short.
I liked how ringo was being a lil cat towards edd and I find tord being there first understandable and good. The way the dream end was actually decent and I applaud  my young self for that.

These are just things as of now that I've thought of. Now I know not many people are on wattpad anymore, I'm not either I'm more on Instagram.
But I'd like to say this

I'm wondering if I should rewrite this book
Keep the characters and such, keep the same storyline but to make it better and update it since it's last two year update.
Hell, even if I don't wanna write a rewrite later on, I'm also willing to keep working on this au.
So another thing I might do:

A comic or tumblr blog.
I've been planning on going on tumblr now and finally creating an ask blog for my eddsworld aus. My friend, Kelsey, recommended it.
I'm currently planning InfernoWorld. Another au I have worked on.

But I'm also planning on creating other blogs for other au's.
Such as:

DreamsWorld
KillerWorld
Maybe even Deathsworld
And, maybe just maybe
Circusworld

Now I am more leaning to making well, a rewrite of this book.
But maybe after I start getting InfernoWorld on a roll I'll start doing the other au's.

I'll be creating their blogs soon but I will leave them purposely on hold before I can start posting there.
So, there is a chance I'll add Circusworld into that mix.

Only because I'd find it more fun to ask the characters how they're doing. But again, I'm leaving this on the table before I say either 'yes, I'll make a CircusWorld blog' or 'no, I won't make a CircusWorld blog'

Sorry for this ramble but I really wanted to put this out.
