"Whoa, yo. Nice house." Marcus says as we pull up to my house. It's one story, but it's pretty big. I came from a rich family so I got money plus the money they gave me. They picked this house for me and I was content with it. I was the only one who lived here, but love it nonetheless.
I step out of the car and walk with him up the steps. I stand in front of my door with a small smile. "So, thanks for driving me home—"
Before I could even finish Marcus put his lips on mine. I froze as he continued, I push on his chest until he stops. His eyes widen.
"Sorry! I miss read the situation. I thought that since we went to lunch we were closer and...stuff. And you were playing with your keys and then I was like 'she wants me to kiss her'." He sighs and leans against my railing.
He looks so defeated, "Hey, it's okay. I just don't really know you and I've only been here for like two weeks." I reassure him.
He nods his head, "I watch go many movies, sometimes I get the 'signs' with girls mixed up." He sighs.
"Do you want to come in?" I ask unlocking my door. "We can watch a movie?" I suggest.
"Sounds awesome. Wouldn't your parents be mad that a boy is over?" He asks closing the door behind him.
"I live alone. I'm going to take a shower, remote is on the coffee table and there's food in the kitchen." I inform him and run to the shower.
I am angry. I thought as I was sitting on the shower floor crying. Riley can't just say those things. He has no idea what I've gone through. I wipe my tears away and finish my shower. I wouldn't want to leave Marcus by himself too long.
I dress in sweatpants and a black T-shirt. I walk down the stairs to see Marcus taking a selfie. He then takes one with his muscles bulging from his arms. He clicks around on the phone and only then do I realize that that phone is my phone.
I walk into the room and he quickly sets it to the side of him thinking that I didn't see. He gives me an innocent smile and follows me into the kitchen.
"Hey, What movie do you want to watch?" I ask looking at him from over my shoulder. His eyebrows furrow. He turns me around to look at him, his eyes widening.
"Have you been crying, Piper?" He touches my cheeks with a frown. I knew I shouldn't have cried, but I just couldn't keep the tears in. The wound is still fresh.
"I hit my elbow in the shower like really hard." I partially lie. I did hit my elbow hard, but it wasn't the reason I was crying. His frown deepens and he almost seems hurt. He nods his head and steps away from me. He was just trying to help. "Hey, Marcus, I could use a hug. If you don't mind—oomph." He squeezes me to him. The affectionate one I see.
"Sorry, I just don't like seeing people upset. I like everyone happy." He smiles down at me. I grin at him and reach for the top cupboard.
"We should make some popcorn. That would go good with movies!" I climb on the counter trying to get the popcorn, but he drags me down to the floor gently.
"I'd rather not see you break your neck. Let me do it." He hits his chest and then grabs the popcorn with ease. I thank him and put it in the microwave.
I hop on the counter and stare at him. "Movie suggestions?"
"Do you like scary movies?" He asks. I look around at my dark house. I live alone and with my past, I get scared too easily. He smirks at me, "we are going to watch the conjuring!"
"I don't have that movie." I say smugly.
"Yeah? But you have Netflix." He smirks and walks into the living room bas I groan and take the popcorn. He plops down on the couch and pats the seat next to him as he looks for the conjuring. "Found it!" He shouts out happily. He starts the movie and grins at me.
