"Riley," I touch his shoulder as we pull up to the store. The others went to the beach and Cade called me to go to the grocery store to pick up things while they get the party ready. He said that Riley should know what we need. That's if he wakes up. He has his face pressed against my stomach again and he won't move. "Riley, hey dude, wake up." I tap his shoulder. I lean down to his ear, "Riley, come on." Then I blow in his ear. He sits up, his head hits on the steering wheel. He throws himself in the passenger seat rubbing his head.
"Shat, that hurt bro." He rubs his head. He look over at me and his face turns red. "Sorry, personal space is like non existent to me." He blushes harder, his gaze falling just below my stomach.
"You do that to every girl?" I ask unplugging the keys from the car. He shakes his head.
"I was just needy and you were there." His face turns ever redder. I flash my teeth at him. He smiles back while pulling on his beanie and getting out of his truck.
He walks by me into the store, but stops when he sees a girl. His hand immediately goes to my hand and knits then together. The girl turns to us with a smile before she sees our hands and then she frowns.
"Riley? Hey!" She prances over.
"I'll do anything if you play along." He whispers in my ear before kissing my cheek. He pulls me closer and sends a strained smile at the girl. "Hey, Maya."
"Hi! Who is this? Is she your girlfriend?" She asks the last part with a venomous tone and a sour expression. I already don't like her.
"Yeah. My one and only." He sighs dreamily and looks at me with adoration in his. He's a pretty good actor. He presses his lips against mine and pulls me closer. Act. I tell myself to play along and kiss him back. Just for fun I slide my tongue into his mouth which sends him on overdrive. He pushes me against a near wall and presses as close as he can get to me as our tongues fight for dominance.
"This is a family store, please tone it down or I will have to ask you to leave." Maya says. Riley pulls his lips away, but he tries to press his self as close as he can to me.
"Okay. Thanks Maya! See you around!" And then he looks at me. "I have a problem, don't say a thing. I just need you to walk in front of me until we get to the bathroom." He says.
"Why—o-oh." I say when he presses himself against me. "Yeah, should take care of that before someone sees it." I say forcing myself not to look. He grins at me.
"Too Bad we are in public," he sighs. "The fun we could have had." He smirks and turns my around so he is behind me.
"This is so awkward!" I whine as we make our way toward the bathrooms. He laughs in my ear and makes me move slower. "Riley Taylors! Don't be such a jerk." He smacks my butt and then goes into the bathroom.
I wait by a bench and see a few guys just sitting there. They turn toward me with smiles. Nice ones. "Hey," the guy with red hair smiles. I wave.
"Are you alone?" The blonde one asks. I shake my head, "who are you with?" He questions further.
"With my boyfriend." Riley still wants me to play along, I think. Both of their smiles fall when Riley exits. He eyes the boys with narrowed eyes. He takes my hand and pulls me closer to him.
"Lets go. We need to get things." Riley tugs me along with him and the cart.
"So, What do we need to get?" I ask. His hands arm warm, I kinda of like holding his hand.
"Food, like chips, soda, alcohol, and other random crap." He says.
"What? We are under age. How are we supposed to get alcohol?" I ask pulling on his arm.
"Have faith in me, sweet cheeks." He winks and pulls me along.
We finally check out and he doesn't have a problem with getting the alcohol. He smirks at me as he carries the bags out. He wouldn't let me help at all. He said it's because he's the man and I'm the woman. How sexist is that? But I don't care, as long as I don't have to do anything.
As we get ready to cross the parking lot a black suv pulls up to us. The window starts to roll down, but I'm already running. I narrowly miss a car turning where I'm at and hop in Riley's truck.
What if that was them?
They could have found me.
I start breathing hard, I bend over in my seat and put my head between my knees trying to get air. Minuets later the door opens and arms wrap around me.
"Piper? What's wrong?" Riley asks, he pulls me to his chest as I hold in tears. He makes me look at him. "What's wrong, sweetheart?" He asks, he tucks my hair behind me hair in a caring way.
"SUV's are just like super creepy and it gives me anxiety." I breathe. He looks at me with sad eyes. "What did they want?"
"Some guy just asked if there was ham in the store." He laughs. I feel like an idiot now. His hand cups my jaw, "It's okay. I'll protect you." He flashes me his shiny teeth. I roll my eyes and push him away. He laughs and pushes me back into the seat. "I was thinking we could finish what was going on in the store..." He trials off as he tries to get in the passenger seat as well.
He shuts the door behind him with a grin now that we are squished in the same seat. "So..." He runs his hands through my hair. "I was thinking we could—"
"Get to the beach. I'm sure they are wondering where we are at." I interrupt him.
"But—"
"I'm not sleeping with you, kissing you or any kind of anything." I open the door and shove him out. He falls on his butt, his lip sticking out as he gives me puppy dog eyes. I smirk at him and shut the door.
...
We played at the beach for hours until Cade started complaining that he was hungry and he would die if we didn't have dinner then.
I laughed as Cade put his hand in mine. "Actually, I'm taking my girlfriend out." He smiles. Blake rolls his eyes and shakes his head. Riley glares at Cade and nods for Ryder to follow him.
Cade takes my hand and I walk with Blake and him. When we get over to the cars Riley and Ryder look like they are in a deep conversation.
"It doesn't matter." Riley sighs, he rubs his eyes with his palms and leans back on his truck.
"If you care then it does matter." Ryder growls at him. He looks at Riley and lets out a long sigh. "The girls will be here when we get back. Forge her for the night. There's another girl and I know you want her." He pats him on the shoulder and then notices us walking toward them. Blake and Cade were oblivious to the whole conversation because they were bickering. Not surprised. They are brothers.
Cade and Blake run for there car as I walk up to Riley. Ryder steps back and pulls out his phone to make a phone call.
"You excited for the party?" I ask, I have to look up at him since he is so tall. He gives me a strained smile and nods his head. "Are you okay?" I ask. He nods his head. "You can tell me, I never kiss and tell." I wink. He laughs.
"I'm sure you have."
"Yeah, in second grade I kissed this third grader and then everyone found out. I wasn't good at keeping my mouth shut then." I smile sheepishly. This makes him smile.
He takes my hat and puts it on his head. "Tell me I look hot and I'll feel better." I bite my lip and luck up at with big eyes.
"You look..." I think for a moment.
"Hot." He comments.
"Ah, but I don't think so." I say. His eyebrows raise. I stand on my tiptoes and whisper in his ear as I take my hat. "I think...I think you look sexy." I bite his ear, kiss the shell of it and then fall back on my heels. He sucks in a breath.
"You tease," he grips my back and pulls me to him. "Wait until I see you later." He winks and lets me go.
