THREE YEARS LATER

It’s been a whole three years that have past in West Mullingar and a lot has changed. When Niall was fourteen he had the inspiration to dye his hair blonde. It was a little weird for Claire at first but she’s gotten use to it now. Claire decided to get her drivers license when she was sixteen. And that secret little romance they have. Well they have managed to keep it a secret for three years and it is still going strong. But one thing that hasn’t changed is Claire and Niall’s love for music. The only difference is that Niall got a lot more serious. They have been practicing everyday for a very special competition coming up. And that is where we find Claire and Niall today.

Claire’s POV

     “Niall, Niall, NIALL!” I screamed.

I swear there was nothing you could do to wake this boy. But at the same time I can’t blame him. We had been practicing so hard the past week. I knew how much this meant to Niall and I wasn’t even auditioning with him. And your probably wonder what are we practicing for? The X-Factor. Niall had told me that when he was sixteen he wanted us to audition together. I told that I loved him but I would never go on that show in a million years. I liked music but I wasn’t that serious. After a lot of convincing I got Niall to say he would do it by himself. But of course I said I would help him prepare. What kind of best friend/secret girlfriend would I be if I didn’t? And now Niall’s audition was in two days and I was starting to think we practiced too much. Finally I gave up on Niall and just let him sleep on my couch in my room. I was already nervous for Niall. I knew there would be a lot of competition and if he did make it to the next round it would be a long road. I wasn’t sure if he, or any sixteen year old could take it.

A couple hours later Niall finally stirred.

“Hey Niall,” I said. I was sitting on my bed half watching him sleep and half reading a magazine. No I am not a stalker.

“Hey. What time is it?” Niall asked, rolling over on the couch to face me.

“5:30, but don’t panic. Our parents agreed you could stay for dinner.”

“Why didn’t you wake me? We could of practiced for the X-Factor.”

“Come on Niall. We’ve been practicing a lot. You don’t want to lose sleep or your voice two days before the audition.”

“Yeah, I guess so. What would I do without you Claire?”

     I just smiled.

Niall”s POV

I was officially freaked out. So many people. Huge line. Even huger stage. What was I thinking? I can’t go on the X-Factor. Me, my family, and Claire had gotten up early to go and queue in front of the arena. We had been waiting for hours and it was almost my turn now. The only thing that comforted me was Claire. She stood right next to me the whole time and when it was time to go onstage her gave me a quick hug, sparking interest from my parents. When I was on stage I tried by best to stay cool and sing the song the way we practiced it. To be honest I was starting to believe that I wouldn’t go through to the next round. It was all up to Katy Perry now. Finally I heard a yes as the arena irrupted into cheers.
