School was beneath Lilly. Although she got perfect grades and was a highly respected student, she did not care for the environment of gossiping kids and mountains of work. She was sixteen now, and in her final year of high school, the most important year, as she had her GCSE's in a few months. Lilly had bigger problems though. Her home life was still unbearable.
Every day, Lilly went home to her drunken mother lying on the floor. On a good day, her mother, Val, would be out at the pub instead. Her divorce and depression pushed her into the dark pits of alcohol and dragged Lilly down with her. Caring for her mum more then Val cared for Lilly caused her to be striped of a social life in and out of school. Hence, why school was beneath her.
Lilly couldn't tell anyone about what happened behind closed doors. She hated it, of course, but she would hate being put into care even more. Her dad left when he slammed the door many winters ago and ran off to America, leaving a mess of a wife and a crumbling daughter behind him.
Evidently, Lilly grew to hate her "job". It held her back from doing normal teenage activities and caused multiple girls to bully her for her inactive social life. Still, she remained silent and bottled up all the hate inside her.
The loathe also came from schoolwork, as she was given so much to do and had so little time to do it. She would stay up through ungodly hours of the night scribbling down maths equations and annotating poems, determined to keep up her perfect reputation. Without fail, Lilly did, but all the extra hard work she did when she could've been getting enough sleep, lead to more hate being held in her heart. However, Lilly was too kind to tell her teachers they gave too much so, again, was silent.
The bottle filled drop by drop with hate until she had exceeded all the detest possibly imaginable to be held in her. Lilly still carried it with her though, all day, every day. Repressing that feeling of despite.
It wasn't until she was introduced to a new emotion that the bottle started to leak slightly. An emotion she had never felt before in her life as she was such a pure soul. She'd start showing her true emotions that she hid behind smiles and laughs. they would come through in small hints. The cause of her new demon, anger.
