It was like any normal day for Shu in her first few years of school. Within her the first day at school she met, Mya, a small schoolgirl with curly chestnut hair and dark brown eyes.
She would tell Shu her amazing discoveries that she would come across. Like the one day when she found an acorn under an oak tree. Shu would say how amazing these 'artifacts' were.
They giggled from day to day from drawing a silly face and confusing the teacher from what they were doing. A quiet girl called Claire walked up to them the one day asking if she could play with them and soon after she would come and enjoy the fun too.
They sat together in lessons laughing away the time.
Once the first few terms were over, Shu was rather bored being the only child in her family she asked her Mum who knew Mya's Mum to hangout together. Mya said if Claire should come over but Shu just went on anyways in her backyard and they pushed each other on the swings and went down the slide.
Time passed so quickly and Shu's mum called them inside for supper. Shu noticed that her mom and Mya's mum were chattering away and didn't pay much attention to them. After they ate their supper they pushed the plate aside and asked Shu's mum if they could play in her bedroom. Her mum just looked over her precious child and said 'Yes sweetie' before turning to talk to Mya's mum again.
Shu showed all of her toys and made a mini teaparty letting Mya choose one of the teddies to look after. The sun set behind the clouds and it was time to go for Mya. They hugged each other and said 'I'll see you at school'.
The holiday passed so quickly that it was time to go back to school again. The leaves were in such an amazing array of colours from yellow to red, brown and green, Shuio picked a beautiful pink leaf and showed Mya and Claire and they were amazed.
The leaves fell one by one until the temperature dropped and they stayed indoors for breaktime. It was a rainy morning in the classroom, Mya, Shu and Claire played with jigsaws and made rather experimental drawings of robots and creatures. The last bell rang and Shu stepped out the classroom and clinged on to her mum. It was nearing Christmas and everyone was giving gifts and performing plays, Shu gave a special present to her best friend, Mya.
Claire was happy that she at least had a friendship eventhough she knew that she wasn't their best friend.
