Shu smiled in happiness across to Mya and said 'Don't open it now!' as she started to tear off the wrapping paper. 'It's a suprise!'.
Mya's mother thanked Shu for the present as she and her mum walked off in the distance. It was the last week of school and first Christmas at her school they sung Christmas songs and played games and had a good time.
It was the last day of school just when Shu left the door she felt a a warm hand around her arm bringing her inside. Claire gave a small present and said 'I hope you enjoy the- uh present'. The time at home was spent with Mya as their Mum's would visit more regularly which ment Mya's mum would take her along. Shu hoped more than anything to get a teddy bear to add on to her ever extending collection.
After visit after visit Shu would notice that she'd spend more time downstairs but just thought that it wasn't much. It was Mya's last visit with Shu was Christmas Eve where they played songs on the radio and danced to music. They played together building a fort out of pillows, Shu's mother said she had to go to bed or Santa wouldn't come tonight. Mya said to her mother 'Can I just do one last thing?' Her mother said, 'What is it?' She replied 'It's a secret'
She allowed Mya to do her thing and as the door closed behind them, Shu's mum started to watch a television series downstairs as Shu fell asleep looking a t the window wondering how much fun it'll be with all her presents the next day.
The next day her mum awoke Shu and said 'Open the door there is something for you!' Shu got dressed as quickly as she could in happiness thinking of what it can be, 'What can it be? What can it be?' She opened the door and saw a small decorated box in front of her feet, a gift. It can't be from Santa since he puts them under the tree, the only person who would put it here is Mya!
Shu closed the door after saying she wanted to open the present by herself. She peeled the wrapping carefully of the small present to find a pearl necklace glistening in the little sunlight came a small letter in some untidy handwriting, 'Thank you for being my friend' Shu smiled at the necklace knowing that Mya was the best friend she could ever have.
She went downstairs and sat down to open all her presents under the Christmas tree and she hugged her mum that day so tightly than before. She had got a notebook, a teddy, a jigsaw puzzle and a present from Claire some milk chocolate and the last present, which was a little clock train which when you pull the string it would go around by it's self. Shu thought it was the best Christmas ever.
