Shuio's Secret ~

Going Abroad

It was the holidays when Shu woke from her sleep and prepared to come downstairs to meet with her mother.

During breakfast which was toast, scrambled eggs and bacon, she sat next to mum when she said 'This weekend we are going to Denmark' 'Guess who we are visiting?' She said 'Grandma? Grandfather?' Her mum replied, 'Nope we're going to visit your Auntie and her cousins!' She groaned in disappointment because she knew her Aunt was a bit crazy and has 5 children which is quite hectic for a household.

'How long will it be?' she moaned. 'It'll be for two weeks, and cheer up sweetie! I'm sure you'll have lots of fun' she smiled at Shu in such a way she couldn't be grumpy. 'So when do we start packing?' It was a Thursday morning and they had to depart on Saturday evening to arrive in the early morning. 'You should start packing this evening, as to the reason why I told you'

Shu was kind of scared because she had never met them before so she didn't quite know what to expect and she was leaving her friends and the country behind with her mum for thr first time and was also excited because she'd get to experience new surroundings and learn more about Denmark.

A day before she had to leave she said goodbye to some close friends and said she'd miss them very much.

On the day she woke up early, she sat up in her bed she looked at her alarm clock it was 3:09am she was very tired and rolled over in her bed. Her mother called 'Shuio, wake up and get dressed!' She looked at the door 'Mum! Can't I just have five more minutes!' 'No! Get out before I get a sponge!' She sat up and hurried to get dressed and yawned down the stairs.

'I'm tired..' The sun wasn't even up yet and it had felt as she only had 5 hours of sleep. 'Come on down, breakfast is ready!' 'Okay, okay mum'  They took their suitcases and drove down to the airport which was 2 hours away.

At the airport they went to a cafè and ate some food since the airplane food wasn't great. They dropped of their suitcases and waited to go on board. Her mum saw how worried she was say 'Don't worry, I'll sit next to you'.

It was 6:15am when they finally got on a plane, it would take about three and a half hours to arrive at her Aunt's house.

Her Mum knocked on the door and the Aunt which name was Iris so. She greeted Shuio, and said how unique her name was. She gave a slight grin and she said 'Hi..' 'Come on in' She said to Shu and her Mum.

She was welcomed by her cousins there was the oldest who was 14 named Julia and the youngest who was 3 year old Harry. Shuio met Carrie who was the same age as her. They played games and introduced her to where she would be staying for two weeks.
