I was waiting in line for my turn to try out. The swim team was both boys and girls, and the captain was Percy Jackson. We went to Goode High School, and we were the Dolphins.

Just like every other girl on the team, I had a crush on Percy. He was the best high school swimmer in the nation, and maybe the world! We knew he would be in the Olympics one day.

"Okay, Kayla Erickson!" Percy called. He was wearing nothing but his swimsuit. They were tight as not to drag and I tried not to stare. He had gorgeous abs and muscles, but scars crisscrossed his chest, back, arms and legs. Some even looked like claw marks and sword wounds. But that was impossible. He also had a tattoo on his forearm. A trident with a single line below it.

I smiled at him and winked, before straightening my goggles and swim cap and diving into the pool. I knew I had a flawless entrance, and swam smoothly and fast. When I finished I slammed my hands into the sensor. I had just done a hundred meter freestyle. I proceeded to do a hundred meter breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly. I had the best times out of the girls.

"The people who made the team are Justin, William, Kale, Cameron, Lilly, Martha, Georgia, and Kayla. And everyone else who was on the team already is still on." Percy announced.

I almost shrieked with delight, but I held it in. After we were done, and my platinum blonde hair was dried and in a ponytail, and I was dressed, I came up to Percy.

"Hey, so I was wondering if you'd like to go-" I was cut off by his gasp.

"Wait one second Kayla." he smiled at me briefly before sprinting away. I followed, wondering where he was going.

He ran outside to where a silver and gray car was waiting. He must have seen it through the windows of the pool room.

"What's going-" I was cut off again by a gorgeous girl stepping out of the car. She had golden blonde curls and stormy gray eyes. They were incredibly intelligent and beautiful. She had a California tan, and wore a red blouse and dark blue jeans, with white sneakers. She also had a leather cord bracelet and a bead necklace, just like Percy's. (A/N: The bracelet is her sword. The gods did that for her after the war)

"Wise Girl!" Percy cried.

"Seaweed Brain!" she said back.

She pushed past the boys surrounding her and ran to Percy. Though I was hoping for siblings, cousins or friends, he picked her up and swung her around, kissing her. I felt a bit of my heart break.

"How are you here?" he asked.

"Didn't Sally, Paul and Chir-Mr. Brunner tell you?" I was confused, Mr. Brunner was the history teacher.

"No..."

"I'm moving here to Goode and staying with you!" she laughed.

Percy's smile widened even more if that was possible, "Yes!"

They kissed and she laughed. I walked away, not able to ask him now. I doubt he even remembered that I had asked him anything.
