"c'mon, stan."
"no, richie." richie pouts.
"but it's the perfect opportunity," he says. stan rolls his eyes.
"you aren't throwing a party at my house," stan says with finality. "just because my parents aren't going to be home for the weekend doesn't mean you have an excuse to go wild."
"i agree with stan on this one," patricia adds.
bill can't help but roll his eyes. patricia blum is clingiest girl bill has ever met. he truly feels bad for stan. she follows him around like a puppy and is practically on top of him at lunch. bill disregards the fact that the feelings all of patricia's affection gives bill is jealousy. he wants to be the one to kiss stan's cheek during lunch, and call him pet names, and hold his hand in the hallway. he hates patricia blum for stealing stanley from him, more than he's hated anyone else.
not to mention patricia's arrival into their group has led to less time for bill and stan to be alone. bill misses kissing stan, misses being near him, misses his warm presence that gives bill tingles. bill watches from the bike rack after school almost everyday, sitting on silver's seat, as patricia slides into the passenger seat of stan's car. stan received a car from his parents for his seventeenth birthday, which he picked up bill in later that evening before they made out in the backseat. now, the car makes bill's blood boil. patricia goes to stan's everyday after school to do homework, and stan tells bill she often stays for dinner. his parents adore her. bill can't see how.
today, the group sits at their usual lunch table, while richie tries to convince stan to let him throw a party at his house. bill isn't sure what the whole fascination is behind throwing one, but richie has been dying to host 'the biggest party of the year' since freshman year. really, bill just thinks richie wants people to know who he is. but then again, who doesn't?
"of course you do," beverly mumbles, rolling her eyes. patricia glances at her, but her smile remains.
"it'll be fun–"
"if you say it'll be fun again, i swear to god i will punch you," stan says. "you've said that before every insane thing you've done since we were thirteen and it never turns out the way you expect." richie rolls his eyes.
"what if i clean up afterwards and keep the invites to a minimum?" richie tries. stanley looks like he's thinking before he sighs.
"fine," he says, while patricia gasps and begins listing off the reasons that this is a bad idea. stan glances at bill, and the boy giggles at the look of absolute annoyance on his face.
he wants to kiss stan in that moment. if only that fucking patty plum wasn't hanging off his arm.

this was originally intended to be much longer, but i'm thinking or changing the ending of the story a bit, but idk for sure yet. i'm going see how planning a new ending would be, and then decide. that switch would occur in the second half of this chapter, which is why im publishing one half now and the other most likely tmrw
EDIT: i AM changing the ending, so the story will be longer than previously anticipated :)
also, i have a lot going on rn, so im sorry i haven't updated my stories that often. i will more as the holidays approach!!
