After that Zayn left the room still muttering underneath his breath. He stormed up the stairs and then we all heard a door slam loudly.
Niall sighed and plopped down on the couch next to me.
"Ignore him. He's just on his period." He told me chuckling. I looked at him briefly and I couldn't help but notice that those gorgeous blue eyes looked extremely familiar . . .
"Yeah," Harry joined in snapping me out of my thoughts. "He gets very moody,"
I smiled weakly at him but I was trying to stop the surge of guilt that was washing through me now I thought about what consequences me leaving could have.
"You're thinking about Finn aren't you?" Christie asked giving me a knowing smile.
I nodded. "I can't believe I left him like that." Finn was a 13 year old boy. He had been dragged into this gang situation exactly like I had. I and Finn had a lot in common as we were both put through the horror that was foster care when we were younger. Finn's mother had passed away when he was 4 and his Dad used to beat Finn until he was put into care, he said it was because he couldn't stand the fact that he looked so much like her. There is still no excuse to hit your child.
I and Melinda were in foster care for four years, because our mother had been incapable of looking after us at the time. Foster care wasn't good to either of us, so when our mother had said that she was ready for us to come back and live with her I had happily agreed, and so had Melinda. We'd had friends in foster care that I and my sister felt guilty for leaving considering everything that was going on . . .
Don't go there.
Anyway Finn and I had grown incredibly close in the West side and I saw him as the little brother I would die to protect. But I wasn't thinking when my sister died, and that's how I ended up so far away from him. Poor boy.
"We'll do everything we can to protect him." Christie told me.
"I can't believe I left him," I told them honestly.
"He would understand. He would say that he didn't need you to protect him anyway." She said smiling.
"I know I just feel . . . guilty. Like if anything happens to him I don't know what I'll do." I gulped. "You don't think they'd kill him do you?"
Christie thought about it for a moment. "No. No I don't. Dean uses him all the time as a decoy. He needs him."
Well that was a relief.
"Who's Finn?" Harry asked.
"A person I consider to be my brother."
"How old is he?" Niall asked and I couldn't help but have a quick glance at those eyes, but when I did it made me more confused. I used to know someone with the same eyes. I would bet my life on it.
"Thirteen."
"Sorry this questions been bugging me for a while now," Louis joined in the conversation. "Why does everyone from this side know you as Dean's girl?"
I glanced at him and then tried to explain. "Whenever we were on drug deals he would always make me come with him. He would always introduce me as 'his girl' and I guess rumours get round fast."
"You've never been with him then?" Louis asked sounding curious.
"Yes Louis." I rolled my eyes. "I got with my kidnapper because that is what every normal person would do in that situation?" I said sarcastically.
"I was only asking." Louis muttered.
"Looks like you girl have got stores of smarcasm in your brain." Harry said in an Texas accent.
