short chapter, sorry my dudes.
"How the hell do I tell him? Ryanne this is the first time I'm going to be telling a boyfriend that I love them, I want it to be special," I said and sighed as we looked through the many items of VS.
Ryanne paused for a second, beginning to think. "Don't wait too long but don't just go up to him and tell him you love him. Maybe if they win tonight tell him? I'm not sure. Claude wrote me a whole paragraph and told me," She said and I nodded. This was going to be harder than I thought.
Due to the fact that I wasn't working tonight I was finally able to sit with the other wives and girlfriends in the club box. I was wearing a combined jersey with KONECTRICK on the back. Since Nolan's number was 19 and Travis' was 11 I kept the number at 19. I was excited, this was the first time I'd be sitting with the wags as an official girlfriend.
I went into the club box to see Veronika, Ivan's girlfriend who lived in Russia.
"Ronnie!" I exclaimed and she turned around with a smile. She was extremely gorgeous with her long dark hair and light brown eyes.
"Lila, oh my gosh it's been so long!" She responded, her accent thick as she spoke. She wrapped her arms around me and I smiled. I had only met her once before but we kept in touch for a while.
"Ronnie, Lils, Hak just told us we're at ice level tonight," Ryanne said and I nodded as Veronika and I pulled away from our hug.
We all went down to warmups to watch our boyfriends, fiancés, or husbands. There was only a number of us here, only about seven, so we didn't take up a lot of space. The boys skated out and began their warm ups, something I always thought was really fascinating to watch. (i love hockey warmups. i prefer the lehigh valley phantoms warmups over the flyers though tbh)
Nolan skated by and glanced at me. He did a double take and skated over to me. "Why are you here? Aren't you working?" He shouted and I shook my head.
"Cody is training an intern," i said and he nodded before turning back to continue. It was nice to finally watch them skating for real and not just through a camera. Of course I've seen all of the boys skate before but when you see them smiling and laughing through your own eyes, it's different.
Twenty minutes later the official game started. It didn't take very long for the scoring to happen though. Brandon scored nearly a minute and a half in. Johnny scored a few minutes later followed by Coots. We were up 2-1 with four minutes left when Ivan scored.
We jumped up with the rest of the arena, Veronika's face lighting up. Ivan grinned as he celebrated with Jori and Scotty, then turned his head when Scott pointed towards our direction. His eyes grew wide and he couldn't seem to wipe the smile off his face as he looked at Ronnie.
The second period was where things started to go rough. Sean Monohan scored twice causing us to be tied. The boys were playing sloppily, I'll admit.
However.
Jake, Ivan and Nolan were all skating down the ice. Ivan passed it to Jake who skated past the blue line, Nolan got on his tails. He passed it to Nol and he banked it into the net.
I yelled out in excitement as I watched my boyfriend grin, skating over and pointing at me causing me to blush. Taylor, Shayne's girlfriend, and Veronika both nudged me from either side. My arms were crossed over my chest and the blush still on my face as the cameras projected me onto the scoreboard as they often did after a goal.
Sean scored again, tying the game up for the second time. That was an easy goal, Elliot should have saved it and the defense could have prevented it from getting into our zone.
The third period went by with no scoring at all so we went into overtime. I absolutely hate overtime. And of course, Frolik scored to deliver a game winning goal and another win for the Flames. All of the wags went downstairs to go see our significant other.
"They are not going to be happy with themselves," Nina muttered and I agreed. This is one of the sloppiest games I had ever seen them play.
It took about half an hour for any of the boys to come out of the locker room. Travis came out, followed by Jordan, then Ivan who went straight to Veronika to embrace her, and then finally, Nolan.
He adjusted his tie that was around his neck, clearly frustrated. "You guys played well tonight," I said with a soft smile. This was the second time they lost to Calgary this season.
Some of the boys muttered a thanks and began walking towards the exit. I walked with Veronika who looked pretty sad that her boyfriend wasn't paying much attention to her.
"Ivan I get you're pissed off you lost but that doesn't mean you get to ignore your girlfriend. You haven't seen her for eight months for crying out loud!" I exclaimed and he turned around, glaring at me before he waited for Veronika to catch up to him.
I walked a little faster to meet with Nolan who still looked pissed. I grabbed his hand and looked down at the ground as I did so.
"Lila I'm just frustrated on how I played. I'm not going to take it out on you," Nolan said and I nodded.
"You got a goal though and it was pretty nice," I said and he shrugged slightly. "Goodbye love, I'll see you," I said and kissed his cheek. He pulled me back by my hand to kiss me quickly. "Hey Nol? I —"
"Lila lets go!" Travis shouted and I frowned. I quickly kissed his cheek and turned to head to the car.
