Chapter Three

Chapter Three: Girls Being Girls

McKinley's POV

The first three classes of the day had passed by quickly: AP Economics with Coach Nicholson, Brit Lit with Mrs. Jackson and Pre-Calculus Miss Hardy. But now, it was fourth period, and it was my favorite class: lunch.

I sat down at my table with Lauren and Kylie, and three other girls that we had been friends with since freshman year, Josie, Emily, and Olivia. All six of us were the exact opposite from each other, so how we became friends still remains a mystery. Lauren is bubbly, popular, loud, and friendly. Kylie is shy yet talkative, and absolutely OBSESSES over One Direction. Josie is short, funny, and is always making us laugh. Emily is a tough lacrosse player that never shows emotion, except for when she's talking about her on and off boyfriend of four years, Bennett Monroe. And then, there's Olivia. Olivia is a band geek who is so dorky she makes us all laugh. We still love her though. And there's also me. I'm not really sure where I fit in, except for the fact that I am a basketball player.

After we settled in to our table, Lauren

mentioned Sage Andrews to the girls. Sage who I met this morning. The really hot, sweet, sexy, nice, and cute Sage I met this morning.

Lauren exclaimed, "He called McKinley beautiful! He must really love you. AND he's waaaaaaay taller than you!"

I thought he can't love me. I've only known him for four hours. How can someone fall in love in four hours?

Josie popped into the conversation and

said, "Girl get him while you can. He's a real cutie, I saw him this morning. He has great teeth, unlike Zach who lost half of his teeth this summer because of that damn snuff."

I laughed at that. She was right about Zach, her boyfriend since 8th grade. However, Sage had REALLY nice teeth. They were straight and bright white. He also had a great smile, a great body, well, Sage had a great everything! I wouldn't even call Sage hot, he was handsome. The most handsome guy I had ever seen.

Josie smiled and said, "Girl you like him. Just admit it."

Okay maybe just a bit, I thought. The mere thought of him turned my face into a tomato! Kylie and Emily both started laughing at me and they said at the same exact time,

"Yep! She likes him!"

That made my face even more red. I was literally the color of a ripe tomato.

Emily said, "Aww, Kins! Just think, Sage will be your first real boyfriend in a matter of days!"

I suddenly frowned at Emily's statement.

FLASHBACK TO 10TH GRADE

"Jordan, we really shouldn't be doing this."

Jordan smiled at me as he helped me down the ladder. It was official: I was sneaking out. With a boy.

"I know," he teased, "But you'll like what I have planned much better, babe."

I giggled at that. Wow, here I was, good girl McKinley Anna Williams, never before been kissed or anything, and I had successfully sneaked out with a boy!

Jordan helped me get into his big red Chevy Silverado and he put a black bandana over my eyes.

"Where are we going, Jordan?" I asked him innocently.

I heard him laugh and say, "If I let you know where we were going, it wouldn't be a surprise baby girl."

I trusted Jordan, so I grabbed his hands and started to play with them. I did that for about ten minutes. Suddenly, we started to go down a gravel road and I got scared.

"Jor, baby, where I we headed?"

"You'll find out in about two minutes babe," he chuckled, "And you're gonna like what you see."

The truck finally came to a complete stop and Jordan took the bandana off of me. We were in the woods. All alone. All that was there was a mattress, a blanket, and about a hundred candles surrounding the bed. I knew where this was headed, so I began to scream, but no one heard me because Jordan cupped his big hand over my mouth and pulled me over into his lap. He started kissing me all over, and I knew what we were doing was so wrong, but I continued to kiss him back. It just felt so good.

"Jordan, honey, we have to...AHHHH!"

He had managed to pull my shirt off my head, and he was now admiring my chest.

I looked at Jordan and asked him what the hell he thought he was doing, although I knew what he was doing.

"I want you, babe," he said with lust in his eyes. "I want you, need you now."

I rolled my eyes and jumped off his lap and ran deeper into the woods. I had to get away from Jordan, he was never like this. I ran as fast as I could, thank God I was on the high school's cross country team. I ran until I jammed my head into a tree and was knocked unconscious. I woke up two days later in a hospital bed with my friends and family surrounding me. I tried to turn my neck to get some water, but much to my surprise, there was a neck brace surrounding it. I had broken my neck just because I sneaked out of the house. I began to cry, and my mom ran over to me.

"Everyone makes mistakes, Kins, it'll be okay."

"Emily, don't even bring that up, okay?"

She chuckled and said, "Well, it is kind of your fault for agreeing to sneak out, McKinley."

"He was going to rape me, Emily! Do you not realize that?"

She frowned and said, "Can we move on to another subject?"

All of a sudden Kylie pointed behind me and squealed. I turned around, and there was Mr. Hot Shot himself, Sage.

Nervously I spoke, "Hey there, Sage."

He smiled at me with concern and said, "Babe, I'll never do that to you. That guy is a total ass. I'll make sure that he doesn't do that ever again to my girl."

Oh my freaking God! He called me his girl. I suddenly had forgotten how to breathe! I then became very flirty and said, "Now Sage, when did I ever become your girl?"

"You've been my girl since the first time I saw you," he whispered in my ear, "And I'll prove it to you tonight at 8 when I pick you up."

Sage winked at me and waved goodbye. He skipped his fourth period, which is Law and Justice, just so he could ask me out on a date! Tonight!

I was going on a date with the hottest and sweetest boy in school! TONIGHT!

I looked at all my friends at the lunch table and we bursted out in laughter.

Lauren yelled, "I call doing your hair!"

I laughed and thought to myself that this was going to be one heck of a year.
