The next day in first period, Violet comes in, late as usual, but looking very excited. She takes her seat next to me and begins to write something on a piece of paper.
I have to tell you something

so theres this guy. his name is Ronnie. I met him yesterday at the mall.

of course he is. but theres one problem with him tho...
lemme guess. hes to old for you or hes married. which one
hes not married. i would never go for a married guy. what if he had a kid. i dnt wanna look like a home wreckin hoe. its that hes 21 and im 18.
....well at least your legal.

I hear someone clear their throat above us and i look up. The teacher is looking at us and holding out her hand for the note. I smile and try to hide the note as if it was going to get me out of trouble. The teacher says "What is so important that you have to ignore my teaching and pass notes.?" Me and Vi look at each other and try to come up with a good lie.
"Give it here. What do you think class? Should I read it aloud?" she asks everyone. They all nod their heads yes and she smirks. Evil bitch. Then she proceeds to read the note to the class. By the time she's done everyone is laughing at us - including the teacher.
Finally the bell rings and we run from the classroom with the other kids still laughing and packing up.
Kids were still laughing at us by the time lunch rolled around. I found a table closer to popular table and sat down.Then I waited patiently until Violet showed up. Five minutes later she comes back with a huge plate of food. The first thing she said was "Are they still laughing at you or is it just me?"
"No. They're still laughing at me to." I say grimly.
I look up and Skyler is standing at our table. "Hey Valkyrie. How are you?"
I'm completely stunned. I didn't know what to say. My mouth was hanging open like a fish. I'm sure I looked ridiculous but he just stared at me and waited for an answer. "Uhh....I'm not that good actually." I say. Damn. i was not supposed to say that. He looked genuinely concerned as if he didn't know why I would be having a bad day when I know he's seen the things we call teenagers laughing at me all day.
"Why is that?" he says.
"Because assholes have been laughing at me all day because of what happened in first period."
"What happened?" he asks.
"In first period me and Violet were passing notes and the teacher caught us and read it out loud to the class. I'm pretty sure it's gotten around the whole school by how much laughing has been going on all day." I say to him. I suddenly realize that I'm having a civilized conversation with the hottest guy in school. I look down and start to blush.
He starts chuckling softly and says "Did she read something embarrassing about you or something?"
"Not about me. It was probably embarrassing to Vi though." I say trying to act normal.
He looks away from and me and starts looking at Vi. "Do i wanna know what you two were talking about?" he asks her looking amused.
"Not really. Even if you did I wouldn't tell you." she says.
"Okay. Well I'll see you ladies around. Bye"
"Bye." I say trying to slow my heart rate.
When he's out of earshot I let out a breath and try to relax. "Oh my god. That was weird. Is it just me or are you a little bit lightheaded?" I ask Violet. She looks at me kinda weird. "Does he really affect you that much? All you did was have a conversation - which I'm very proud of you for doing. You didn't even say anything stupid." She says with a laugh.
I gave her a dry look. "Why did you think I was gonna say soemthing stupid? Do you have no faith in your best friend?"
"Not when it comes to him. But you proved me wrong." she said.
We talk for the rest of lunch about Skyler and Ronnie and completely ignoring the few people who are spending their lunch laughing at us.

When I get home I immediately head to my room and put my stuff on my bed and start doing homework. It's pathetic. I know. I'm in my senior year of high school and I still do my homework before anything else.
When I'm halfway done with my homework I decide to take a break and get on Facebook. The first thing I see is a picture of mine and Vi's note from first period. I look in the comments section and their are tons of rude remarks in there. Mostly from Natalie though. At this point in time I'm just sick of her and all the bullying. I feel the need to fight her.
Then I make a pros and cons list about the consequences for fighting her.
Pros:
The bitch has it coming
It would be so worth it
I will finally get the chance to break her nose
Cons:
I will get suspended
It will end up on the Internet and my parents will find out.
In my opinion it's pretty close. I resolve to just ask Violet about it tomorrow.
