"Bye Moriah love you! Have a great first day, see you this afternoon!" "Bye mom, I love you too!" I said jumping out of my car seconds later. As you can probably guess, I'm the new girl. I popped in my earbuds and played my favorite song, pulling out my schedule the guidance counselor gave me the previous weekend. I smiled to myself remembering I had guitar 1st period. I played some, but I wanted to get better. I looked up and saw a handful of new faces. People were either on their phones, or talking with friends. Shortly after I entered the school grounds, the bell rang signaling students to start making their way to class.

Once I got to guitar, I went up to the teacher, introduced myself, told her I was new and asked her where I should sit, considering winter break was coming up and I couldn't just pick any seat. She pointed at a chair right next to a boy with dark brown curly hair, brown eyes and freckles. I sat down, and kinda stared into space for a little bit. I realized I was in an awkward situation, so I pretend to look for my schedule, and examen it. "Are you new here?" I heard a male voice ask. "Uh.. yeah I am." "Oh, well nice to meet you. I'm Finn." The boy said with a small smile on his face. "Hi Finn, I'm Moriah." Soon after, the teacher took attendance. "Where did you move from?" "Chicago." I replied. "Cool." .......... "Moriah Castrodes?" "Here!"

Finn and I continued talking for the rest of the period. (When we were allowed to). Right before class ended, Finn asked me what I had for 2nd period. "Math. With Mr. Lincoln." "Me too! We could walk together, if you want." "Yeah sure!" We walked to Math together, and on the way he asked me if I wanted to sit with him and his friends at lunch, looking down ever so slightly. I told him yes, and also what my 4th period was that way we could meet up and walk to lunch together.

*time skip to the end of the school day*

I walked through the halls, with my black mid-length hair flowing behind me. "Moriah!" A voice called. I tuned around and it was Finn. He caught up with me and walked to the car loop where my mom was picking me up. After we parted ways, a smile crept across my face, reflecting on my first day. Little did I know, that day was the blossoming of a great friendship.
