--- "It's okay, there's no one else. Only you." ---

--- "I know." ---

I opened my laptop and checked my regular things, twitter, facebook, wattpad, and my email. I didn't normally get many emails but this time, a certain one caught my eye.

I read it over again and, almost, mindlessly, translated it into English. "Eiko! I finally found you! If we could exchange Skype's (if you have one of course) and call sometime it would be lovely. I've missed you!" I read quietly to myself. "Holy shit.." I mumbled. My father had found me and wanted to call me? What's been going on in the past ten years? Did he actually miss me? I thought to myself. I instantly wrote back, deciding it's been long enough that I've been scared of him. He's over six thousand miles away. He couldn't hurt me, could he?

I read it out loud in english, "Hello Father! I've missed you too! If we could Skype right away it would be great! It is very early here, we are 14 hours apart remember? But mom is awake, she's downstairs, so we can gladly call!" I whispered. Then I read it over in Japanese before I reluctantly sent it along with a link to my Skype. After not even 10 minutes later, my youtube video paused, and I was face to face with my father yet again. "Papa!" I exclaim, excited it wasn't a random person. "Eiko!" He exclaimed, mocking my tone. I knew enough Japanese and he knew enough English that we could actually talk to each other. I paused, looking him over quickly. His face, was a bright beaming shade of a pale brown, no longer sad, or drunken. His eyes, looked full of life, no longer stained with a yellow tint or with purplish-blue bags resting underneath them. His smile, was bright, like when I was young and when Takeshi was first born, no longer angry, or faked toward me or anyone around. His hair, was neatly placed atop his head, like a brown cap, sitting inches from his face. No longer strewn wherever which way, frizzed and sticking up in certain places. He looked happy again. He finally looked at peace.

We talked for hours, until it was time for his supper, and for me to sleep. "Goodnight Papa, I love you" I said and he nodded. "I love you too princess" he said, ending the call for me, knowing I was already half asleep and could not keep my eyes open for much longer.
