An empty, black room. I stood in in an ongoing puddle. The whole room was filled to my ankles with water.

"Hello?" I ask. I was surprised with my voice. It was high pitched and sounded nothing like me, as well as me speaking Japanese out of nowhere. "Hello? Is anyone here?" I said, a bit louder. I heard a splash and turned around. "Who was that?" I ask and see a figure, taller than me by maybe five inches, walking toward me. "Aiko, I've missed you." he says. I didn't understand him, he was speaking a language I couldn't. "What?" I ask. "Aiko, do you remember me?" he whispers, clutching my wrists. It felt familiar. "Aiko, you remember me. I know you do. I felt it." he says and guides my hand to his chest. Memories come flooding back as I fell to the ground.

"Aiko, please wake up! I need you."

"I swore to you he wouldn't come back, I'm sorry."

"Aiko, I'm so sorry. Forgive me please..."

I cried. I cried hard. "Goddammit! Why the hell couldn't you wake up Ko? I swore I'd protect you! You knew it would be ok!" he shouted. "Ji, I'm sorry." I whisper through my sobs.

I jolt up shaking, sobbing uncontrollably. "Baby, what happened? Why were you speaking Japanese?" Jin asks from next to me. "I'm so sorry, I couldn't wake up. I knew it would happen and i tried, but I couldn't." I mumble. Jin sits up and cradles me in his arms. "Shhh.. It's okay. What happened? Who was there?" he asks in a calm tone. "You." I whisper. "You knew I couldn't. You knew I wasn't strong enough!" I exclaim. "Baby, I don't know what you mean." he says, rubbing circles on my back. "I went. You convinced yourself I was fine but I wasn't. I was gone, Ji. I was completely gone." I say. "Eiko. Sweetie, I don't understand." he says. "I died, Jin. I left you. He fucking took me. You convinced yourself it was a fake body they buried and it became too much and you died as well. You killed yourself over me." I say. "Oh my God." he breathes. "Aiko" he whispers and I nod. "Where did you go?" he asks. "H-hirokazu. He took me. He killed me out of pity and anger. I was never good enough."

"In chaos theory, the butterfly effect is the sensitive dependence on initial conditions in which a small change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state. ...A very small change in initial conditions had created a significantly different outcome."
